In 2026, Marvel Studios launched a unique new miniseries called Wonder Man, kicking off the ‘Marvel Spotlight’ series. The show tells the story of Simon Williams (played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II), an actor hoping to make it big in Hollywood, but who secretly has superpowers. These powers, based on ionic energy, make him a prime target for Damage Control, the group tasked with monitoring and capturing people with enhanced abilities.
WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS FOR WONDER MAN FOLLOW!

Against all expectations, both in the real world and within the fantastical world of the film, Simon launched his career with a starring role in the new “Wonder Man” movie. Just as he was becoming famous, his close friend Trevor Slattery (played by Ben Kingsley) helped him avoid trouble with Damage Control, seemingly setting him up for an easy life of celebrity. However, Simon soon started to have second thoughts…
Rather than hide his abilities and live a glamorous life, Simon chooses to train and perfect his powers. He then plans to use these, along with his acting skills and charisma, to sneak into the prison where Trevor Slattery is held and rescue him. The last issue ended with a major cliffhanger, leaving fans wondering what happens next.
Is Wonder Man Getting Season 2? (Now We Know The Answer!)

Marvel insider Daniel RPK reports that Marvel Studios is likely to approve a second season of Wonder Man very soon. If approved, it would be only the third Disney+ series from the Marvel Cinematic Universe to get more than one season, joining Loki and Daredevil: Born Again. The second season of Daredevil: Born Again is currently scheduled to premiere in the spring.
The season one finale strongly suggests season two of Wonder Man will take the story in a new direction, but it doesn’t have to change what makes the show work. If Simon and Trevor are hiding from Damage Control, they’ll need to create false identities and backstories to stay hidden. This will also force them into tricky situations where they have to use their powers, even if they don’t want to.
The show could also explore Simon’s struggle to continue acting while hiding from someone, which would be a great way to add layers to the story about the entertainment industry – this time focusing on the challenges of fame and feeling alone while trying to live a normal life. This is just an example of the many interesting storylines Wonder Man could pursue in its second season, regardless of what happens in Avengers: Doomsday. There’s a lot of potential for deeper storytelling.
