For several years, Tracy Spiridakos was a frequent character in primetime, starring on the cast of Chicago P.D. However, she left at the end of Season 11. In the NBC One Chicago cop drama, Toya Turner took over as Kiana Cook following Hailey Upton’s departure, but changes are expected again when Season 13 begins in fall 2025. Not long after announcing who would be joining the cast as Cook’s replacement, Spiridakos has secured a significant lead role, distancing herself from the multiverse of Dick Wolf’s TV shows.
Tracy Spiridakos’ New Show
After parting ways with Chicago P.D. in 2024, Spiridakos took a brief break from television acting, but she didn’t disconnect entirely from her fellow cast members. Notably, her journeys with Jesse Lee Soffer (her on-screen husband until his departure from the One Chicago series) sparked speculation about her potential appearance on FBI: International. Now, she’s back on our screens as the lead actor in the upcoming series Anna Pigeon for USA.
In the series titled “Anna Pigeon“, Tracy Spiridakos portrays the main character who transforms into a park ranger following a tragic event, having previously led a city lifestyle. According to Deadline, escaping her personal struggles won’t be that simple by merely changing her location. Instead, she’ll grapple with crimes occurring within national parks, offering the potential for filming in breathtaking landscapes.
The upcoming television series is adapted from a book series penned by Nevada Barr, with Morwyn Brebner, Executive Producer of shows like “Rookie Blue” and “Saving Hope”, taking on the role of showrunner. Interestingly, Brebner’s past as a writer, creator, and EP of “Rookie Blue” means she worked with Missy Peregrym for several years before Peregrym became the main character in CBS’ “FBI”. In an intriguing connection, Spiridakos previously appeared on “FBI” as Upton from “P.D.” in 2020.
At this point in time, there’s no information about who else will star alongside Spiridakos in the upcoming Anna Pigeon series. However, it’s been reported that the show is expected to air on USA in 2026. Given this, it looks like we won’t be seeing Upton returning to Chicago P.D. anytime soon. Instead, a new character will likely join the cast, with Toya Turner’s Kiana Cook being one of the first additions for Season 13.

Chicago P.D.’s New Series Regular
In the latest development for Chicago P.D., Arienne Mandi, known for her role in The Night Agent, has been announced as a series regular. According to Deadline, she will portray Naomi Kerr, a CPD officer with a past in the military and as a military contractor. This background makes her adept at handling dangerous situations, but closed off when it comes to sharing personal details. However, it should be noted that details might change between the time of her casting announcement in July 2025 and NBC’s Season 13 premiere on October 1.
Mandi is most recognized for her part in Netflix’s second season of The Night Agent (with Season 3 upcoming), yet she shares the spotlight with actors such as Jesse Lee Soffer, Jeremy Sisto, Alana De La Garza, and others by portraying multiple characters within the Wolf Entertainment universe. Before securing her regular role on Chicago P.D., she appeared as a guest actor on CBS’s FBI.
It’s yet to be determined how smoothly Arienne Mandi’s new character will blend with the Intelligence Unit’s team dynamics. The latest series regular to stay beyond one season was Benjamin Levy Aguilar as Officer Dante Torres. Tune in to NBC on Wednesday, October 1 at 10 p.m. ET, after the Season 14 premiere of Chicago Fire at 9 p.m. ET and the Season 11 premiere of Chicago Med at 8 p.m. ET.
Regarding Tracy Spiridakos’ upcoming series, we’ll need to keep an eye out for USA Network to provide information about the fate of Anna Pigeon. In the meantime, you can enjoy her past performances as Hailey Upton by streaming Chicago P.D. with a Peacock subscription.
