The sequel to Jujutsu Kaisen, titled Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, concluded after just six months in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. Fans were initially surprised when the original Jujutsu Kaisen ended in 2024, but creator Gege Akutami surprised them again the following year by launching a new series that turned out to be a sequel. Set decades after the events of the first series, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo features a fresh story for a new generation.
The sequel series, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, launched last fall to a lot of anticipation, but it concluded after just six months with the release of its 25th and final chapter in Shonen Jump magazine. The series quickly resolved its main conflicts, finished the storylines of key characters, and effectively brought the overall story to a close.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Ends With Chapter 25
The final chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo has been released, wrapping up the series and hinting at the future of the Jujutsu Kaisen world. Like the original series, the ending of Modulo leaves some questions unanswered and ideas unexplored. However, the final chapter does its best to provide a satisfying conclusion to the decades-long story of Yuji Itadori and his friends, feeling like a definitive end to their journey.
The Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo series was designed to be relatively short. Although fans were hoping for a longer continuation, especially given the interesting new concepts introduced – such as aliens possessing Cursed Techniques – the author, Akutami, had previously stated the plan was for it to run for a maximum of six months. With a planned length of three published volumes, this final chapter definitively concludes the sequel.
What Does This Mean for Jujutsu Kaisen’s Future?

Even though the main story of Jujutsu Kaisen has finished, the creator, Gege Akutami, will continue to contribute to the franchise. A spinoff series is already being developed, and the anime is currently airing the last episodes of its third season. While Akutami may create new stories in the future, they’ll likely be original ideas separate from the Jujutsu Kaisen universe.
With the popularity of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime, fans can expect more content in the future. A new season of the TV series is likely, and if it does well, we might even see an anime adaptation of the sequel series too. While the current story arc may be ending, there’s still plenty more Jujutsu Kaisen to look forward to.
