2025 was a great year for anime, with many popular action-fantasy series like *Solo Leveling*, *Fire Force*, and *Dandadan*. But while those shows got a lot of attention, the romance anime *The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity* quietly became a hit, winning over viewers. The manga was already popular, and the anime only increased its fanbase after it premiered in Summer 2025. Although the first season ended in September 2025 and was well-received, the studio didn’t immediately announce a second season. Typically, a successful show will announce a sequel right after the finale, but that didn’t happen here. Aniplex released a video celebrating the end of the season, but didn’t share any news about the anime’s future.
The anime is building excitement for a special event called the Blooming Party, happening on November 1st, 2025, where fans can expect new information about the show. While it’s unknown exactly what will be announced, a beautiful promotional image featuring the characters has been released. The official website has details about the event’s location, time, cost, and where to purchase tickets. The voice actors who play the main characters will also be there, and we might hear about their experiences working on the anime. The event will take place at Iino Hall in Tokyo, but any big news will likely be shared with fans worldwide.
What Happened in The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity Season 1 Finale?
The season one finale marks a turning point for Kaoruko and Rintaro’s relationship. As they enjoy their first summer together, including a beach trip, Rintaro unintentionally reveals his feelings for Kaoruko. Both struggle to be open about their emotions, but they eventually meet at a summer festival where Kaoruko admits she fell in love with him first, and he accepts her feelings.
The final episode reveals Kaoruko’s memories of when she first met Rintaro – the moment she discovered his kindness and her wish to continue seeing him at his family’s bakery. Interestingly, Rintaro doesn’t recall their first encounter, which Kaoruko finds strangely comforting, as she realizes he’s naturally helpful to everyone. The story then follows them as they navigate school, pursue their ambitions, and deal with the difficulties of attending rival schools.
Currently, the manga has 20 volumes available in Japan. In English, there are 9 volumes available for purchase on the Kodansha website, with volume 10 coming out on December 9th, 2025. The first season of the anime covers the first 40 chapters of the manga, so you can pick up reading at chapter 41. All chapters are available digitally on the official K Manga app from Kodansha.
