Hooray for Wiccan enthusiasts! The beloved young Avenger, previously seen only in animated form, stepped onto the live-action stage for the first time in “Agatha All Along“, portrayed by Joe Locke (from “Heartstopper” fame). In this appearance, we discovered that Wiccan is the son of Wanda Maximoff, also known as the Scarlet Witch, and a fresh addition to the magical roster in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The tale of Wiccan is just unfolding, with his future partner-in-crime and fellow Young Avenger, Hulkling, yet to make an appearance. The future looks promising for Wiccan, especially as we eagerly await a brand new Marvel series starring him in the lead role.
Titled “Wiccan: The Witches’ Path,” this fresh five-part limited series is penned by Wyatt Kennedy (of “X-Men: The Wedding Special” fame) and introduced to the Marvel Comics scene by debut artist Andy Pereira. As his inaugural solo adventure, “Wiccan: The Witches’ Path” will continue threads from Jonathan Hickman’s “Imperial,” with Wiccan embarking on a journey down the Witches’ Road to save Hulkling’s life. During this quest, Wiccan encounters a new adversary while uncovering his special mission in shielding Earth against supernatural perils.
Wiccanâs Status in the MCU, Explained

After the finale of “Agatha All Along,” Billy Kaplan/Wiccan and Agatha Harkness’ ghost embarked on a journey to locate Billy’s brother, Tommy, who is also known as Speed. Following the lifting of Scarlet Witch’s spell in Westview, her family, including Vision, Billy, and Tommy, ceased to exist. We subsequently discovered that Billy’s spirit moved into teenager William Kaplan’s body, who had passed away in a car accident with his family. Upon entering this body, Billy restored it back to life.
Tommy encountered a similar ordeal, and it’s now Wiccan and Agatha’s mission to locate him. The continuation of Wiccan’s story hasn’t been officially revealed yet, but we have something exciting to anticipate: the upcoming “Vision Quest” spinoff from “WandaVision” on Disney+. Additionally, there’s ongoing chatter about a “Young Avengers” project, which might be unveiled on Disney+ or in theaters. The animated series “Marvel Zombies” on Disney+ could introduce potential Young Avengers like Kate Bishop, Ms. Marvel, and Ironheart. Although this takes place in an alternate universe within the multiverse, it may serve as a hint of what’s to come from these young heroes.

- SOMETHING WICCAN THIS WAY COMES!
- A dark, macabre adventure awaits down the Witchesâ Road that will reshape Wiccanâand the magical fabric of the Marvel Universeâforever⊠Wiccan and Hulkling arrive back on Earth, but nothing is ever easy for Marvelâs favorite (former) space emperors! With Hulkling grievously wounded, itâs up to Wiccan to save the dayâbut what lengths will he be willing to go to do so?
It’s truly exhilarating to have the opportunity to lead Billy down an unanticipated path, pushing him beyond his comfort zone. By introducing a fresh antagonist and a shocking collaborator, I believe fans will be delighted. Writing one of Marvel’s beloved pairs is already a pleasure, but what really gets me pumped is delving into Billy’s personal identity and understanding the implications of being Wiccan within the broader Marvel universe.
Apart from expressing his enthusiasm, Pereira additionally noted that his Marvel Comics debut in Wiccan: Witchesâ Road fulfilled a lifelong aspiration. “Working on Marvel feels like bringing my childhood dreams to life,” he remarked. However, he emphasized that he didn’t achieve this milestone single-handedly, as there were numerous individuals who contributed to his artistic and personal development: friends, family members, particularly FĂĄbio Yabu who instilled much of his comic knowledge, Sara Pichelli for being an inspiration, and lastly but not least, his girlfriend who offered unwavering support.
He expressed his joy that both he and Wiccan are embarking on their solo careers together for the first time, and everyone involved is working diligently to ensure the outcome is exceptional. He wishes this is just the beginning of many success stories. He’s thrilled about getting to work with Billy and Teddy, who sport amazing designs, as well as Wyatt, who is doing a fantastic job setting the atmosphere. The most difficult aspect of ‘The Witchesâ Road’, he noted, is dealing with all those trees!
