Warning: Spoilers ahead for Alien Earth episode 6.
In the series Alien, the terror on Earth escalates with each episode, but episode 6 surpasses all previous levels of horror as we sadly bid farewell to one of our Lost Boys.
In the most recent installment of the spin-off show penned by Noah Hawley, we delve back into what transpired at the Neverland location following the events hinted at in episode 5’s flashback.
In Timothy Olyphant’s character Kirsh’s absence from Neverland, he entrusts Tootles, played by Kit Young, with the responsibility of caring for the alien specimens.
Despite being just a child, Tootles finds himself trapped when he enters the cage. The door swiftly locks, leaving him unable to get out. In this confined space, he meets a grim end at the hands of a nest of aggressive alien flies. A particularly disturbing aspect is that his eyes are viciously removed from his skull during the attack.
In a poignant instant as Tootles passes away, a line from J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan is narrated: “The inhabitants of the island change in number due to deaths and suchlike events; and whenever they appear to be maturing, which is forbidden, Peter reduces their numbers.

Following Tootles’s terrifying demise, the characters are confronted with a bone-chilling revelation – death knows no favorites, and no one is immune on the island. The Lost Boys once believed themselves to be invincible, but this grim event serves as a harsh reminder that they are not exempt from danger.
In conversation with Variety, the actor disclosed his character’s revelation, expressing it as follows: “It’s pure terror, as I discover that all the foundations of the Prodigy-created hybrids are based on deception.
Each of these corporations seeks immortality in unique ways, and Prodigy is pursuing it through body enhancement. This heightens the risks for all the ‘Lost Boys,’ particularly Wendy [Sydney Chandler], as it becomes clear that no one is completely secure.
After being fired, Hermit learns an undeniable fact when he questions Arthur about the truth: the safety of his sister is at stake. While Arthur deceives the cameras, he discreetly communicates a message to Hermit via his screen, instructing Hermit to evacuate Wendy/Marcy from their current location and providing him with the code for the boat.
As for whether they’ll make it out alive? We’ve got two more episodes to find out.
