With the PC and PlayStation 5 launch of *Alien: Rogue Incursion – Part One: Evolved Edition* nearing, Survios has released a new trailer and announced the game will also be available on Xbox Series X/S starting September 30th. The trailer shows how the game is being adapted from virtual reality to traditional screens and highlights the gameplay adjustments made for this change.
In *Alien: Rogue Incursion*, you play as Zula Hendricks, a former Colonial Marine on a mission to uncover secret, unethical experiments conducted by the Weyland-Yutani corporation. As you might expect from a game based on the *Alien* movies, things quickly go awry. Hendricks ultimately finds herself stranded on a remote planet called Pudan after responding to a distress call.
In *Alien: Rogue Incursion*, the biggest danger comes from the Xenomorphs, so the game focuses on a blend of sneaking and fighting. Players will need to quickly decide whether to confront enemies directly or try to avoid them, conserving valuable supplies like ammunition and health. This choice depends on how well-equipped they are at any given moment.
As you progress through *Alien: Rogue Incursion*, you’ll gather a powerful collection of weapons and tools to handle any challenge the game throws your way.
The developers of *Alien: Rogue Incursion Evolved Edition* aim to create a truly unsettling experience, particularly at the beginning of the game. Players will feel vulnerable and will need to carefully search for ammo while desperately avoiding the deadly Xenomorphs. To heighten this tension, the game uses advanced spatial sound, requiring players to listen closely as well as look to detect nearby dangers.
Originally created for virtual reality, *Alien: Rogue Incursion* will probably lose some features common in VR games. For instance, many VR games require players to actively use both hands during combat. Now that it’s moving away from VR, this game may feel more like a typical horror shooter.
As the name suggests, *Alien: Rogue Incursion Evolved Edition* is the first of two planned games in a continuing story. While it sets up future events, the developers at Survios say this game still offers a complete and satisfying experience on its own. However, some plot points are intentionally left unresolved, setting the stage for the next installment of *Rogue Incursion*.
You can now pre-order *Alien: Rogue Incursion Evolved Edition* in two versions: Standard for $29.99 and Deluxe for $39.99. The Deluxe Edition comes with extra content, including blue camouflage armor and weapon skins, as well as a digital art book.
