Alix Earle Says First Date After Braxton Berrios Split Feels “Wrong”

Four months after ending her relationship with Braxton Berrios, a wide receiver for the Houston Texans, the TikToker shared that she was going on a first date with someone new.

“I’m honestly not sure how to react,” Alix shared in a TikTok on April 6th. “He offered to pick me up, go for a walk on the beach, and grab some food.” I just thought, ‘A walk?’ I have no idea what to wear!”

In the end, Alix chose some low kitten heels to wear with her outfit, though she was also a little worried about the drive.

“We’re heading to Malibu,” she said. “It’s about an hour’s drive, and I was a little worried about the time. But luckily, I’m good at making conversation, even if it’s just to myself!”

Alix wasn’t a fan of small talk, but she felt uneasy. She hadn’t been planning on taking this particular step, and it made her nervous.

I’ve also avoided dating apps completely, just by choice,” Alix explained. “I did have someone message me on social media, and I thought, ‘Okay, maybe.’ But he immediately started talking about skincare, which was so strange – it felt like he just wanted free products!”

You know, I was chatting with Alix recently about a moment she shared on TikTok, and she actually admitted it wasn’t that big of a deal. She felt a little silly even bringing it up, honestly! It just goes to show you, what looks like a major life event online isn’t always what it seems. We all put a spin on things, right?

She confided that she didn’t want anyone to know what she was going through, admitting she struggled to put her feelings into words. Even though it had been four months since her breakup, she still felt unsettled and something just didn’t feel right. She really didn’t enjoy the way she felt.

Alix has been open about how difficult it’s been to move on from her two-year relationship with Braxton.

Honestly, the hardest part of my breakup, and being on my own, is just… being alone. It sounds silly, but I miss having that consistent presence, you know? I’m lucky to have amazing friends and family, of course, but it’s different. I really miss having a partner, or even just someone to chat with or take my mind off things. It’s just that feeling of stability that’s been missing, and it’s been really strange adjusting to that.

Because being single has felt so hard, though, Alix is determined to make this era last. 

Alix admitted to previously jumping from relationship to relationship, but decided this year would be different – she wanted to learn to be comfortable being single. However, she’s finding it harder than she thought. ‘It feels like personal growth, but it’s making me sad,’ she explained.

The NFL player posted a cute picture in late September showing his TikTok star partner cheering him on from the sidelines.

Alix shared this PDA pic on Instagram in October, writing, “hbd nfl man.”

The couple took a trip to the Bahamas in November during the Miami Dolphins’ bye week.

Braxton posted a series of pics from the getaway on his Instagram page, writing, “Worth the wait.”
