Following the second season of *Peacemaker*, DC Studios has 11 more TV shows in the works for the DC Universe and other properties. With *Creature Commandos* and *Peacemaker* already released, and *Superman* hitting theaters, DC Studios has gotten off to a great start. And there’s more to come – several new DC TV shows are planned for release in the years ahead.
In 2023, James Gunn, co-CEO of DC Studios, revealed five TV shows planned for the first phase of the DC Universe, called “Gods and Monsters.” One show has already premiered on HBO Max, and four more are currently being developed. Additionally, several animated projects are in the works as separate stories outside the main DCU, under the DC Elseworlds banner. Overall, the future of DC’s TV content, both live-action and animated, looks promising and is set to grow significantly.
11) Bat-Fam

DC Studios’ next TV series, *Bat-Fam*, is coming to Prime Video in November 2025. It’s a follow-up to the 2023 animated special *Merry Little Batman*, which featured Luke Wilson as Batman and Yonas Kibreab as his son, Damian Wayne. *Bat-Fam* continues the story of Bruce and Damian as they balance family life with fighting crime in Gotham City, facing villains like Volcano, Man-Bat, and Ra’s al Ghul.
10) Lanterns

The next live-action series from DC Studios, and the next official installment in the new DCU for television, will be *Lanterns*, coming in early 2026. The show will star Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre as Hal Jordan and John Stewart, two famous Green Lanterns investigating a mystery on Earth. Nathan Fillion will return as Guy Gardner, a character he previously played in *Superman*. Created by Damon Lindelof, Chris Mundy, and Tom King, *Lanterns* promises to delve deeper into the world of the Green Lantern Corps than any previous DC movie or TV show.
9) Waller

Despite limited news, James Gunn recently confirmed the *Waller* series is still being developed. Viola Davis will return as Amanda Waller, a character she’s played in the DC Universe and *Creature Commandos*. Waller previously led ARGUS and created both Task Force X and Task Force M. While a release date hasn’t been announced, there’s growing belief that Davis’s powerful antihero will be a major player in the series. Originally, *Waller* was intended to premiere before *Superman*, but that plan changed.
8) Paradise Lost

I’m so excited about the upcoming *Paradise Lost* series! As a Wonder Woman fan, I’ve been waiting to learn more about her origins, and this show promises to deliver just that. It’s set way before Diana was even born, really diving into the history of Themyscira and establishing it as a central location in the new DCU – we’ve already heard about it and even met Circe there in *Creature Commandos*! From what I’ve heard, it might even draw inspiration from the classic comic book story of the same name, which showed a really intense civil war on the island. It sounds like it’s going to be a fascinating look at the political struggles within the Amazonian society.
7) Booster Gold

Former athlete Mike Carter will play the main role in the upcoming DCU series, *Booster Gold*. The show centers around a superhero who travels from the future and pretends to have powers using advanced technology. DC Studios announced in July 2025 that David Jenkins (known for *Our Flag Means Death* and *People of Earth*) will write and lead the series as showrunner. While there’s no confirmed release date yet, the show is still being developed as a comedy at DC Studios.
6) Blue Beetle

After first playing Jaime Reyes’ Blue Beetle in the 2023 live-action movie, Xolo Maridueña will reprise his role in a new animated series for the DCU. Maridueña mentioned in February 2025 that the animated series is expected in 2026, though this hasn’t been officially announced. The series could establish Blue Beetle as an important character in the new DCU and continues the trend of bringing actors and characters from the previous DCEU into the rebooted franchise.
5) My Adventures with Green Lantern

Following the popularity of the 2023 animated series *My Adventures with Superman*, featuring Jack Quaid as Clark Kent, a new series called *My Adventures with Green Lantern* is in the works. This upcoming DC Elseworlds show will center on Jessica Cruz, a high school student who discovers a Green Lantern Power Ring and gains incredible superpowers. Announced in February 2025 with Jake Wyatt and Stephanie Gonzaga as executive producers, a release date hasn’t been announced yet.
4) DC Super Powers

In February 2025, Cartoon Network announced a new animated series called *DC Super Powers*. The show is set at the Alliance School for Heroes and will follow a group of students – Lightning, Flash, Plastic Man, Aquagirl, Green Lantern, and Terra – as they learn the ropes with guidance from Principal Martian Manhunter. Produced by Matt Beans and Michael Chang, the series is inspired by the classic Super Powers Collection action figures, but a release date hasn’t been announced yet.
3) Starfire!

A new Cartoon Network series called *Starfire!* is coming soon, and it will tell the story of how Koriand’r became the Starfire fans know from the Teen Titans. The show begins on her home planet, Tamaran, where she discovers an old spaceship and uses it to journey into space. Along the way, she’ll team up with interesting characters like Crush, a space biker; Fern, who loves plants; and Princess Amethyst, a magical being from Gemworld, for exciting adventures. Josie Campbell and Brianne Drouhard are producing the series.
2) Mister Miracle

It’s currently unknown if the upcoming animated series *Mister Miracle* will be part of the new DC Universe. The show, based on the 2017 comic series by Tom King, will center on Scott Free, a master escape artist, and will also introduce his villainous father, Darkseid. If included in the DCU, *Mister Miracle* would introduce a major villain who could have a big impact on the future of the franchise. Details about where and when the series will be released are still to come.
1) Creature Commandos Season 2

After the success of *Peacemaker* season 2, another DC Universe series is getting a second season: *Creature Commandos*. Production on season 2 started in June 2025 and will continue the story of Task Force M, introducing new team members hinted at in the season 1 finale. Expect Rick Flag Sr. and the Bride to lead Doctor Phosphorus, Nosferata, Khalis, Weasel, King Shark, and an enhanced GI Robot on a new mission for ARGUS, possibly alongside Eric Frankenstein.
We don’t have a release date for season 2 of *Creature Commandos* yet, but fans likely won’t have to wait too long to see Task Force M return. Besides this animated series, several other DC TV shows are in the works. One potential series would focus on Jimmy Olsen (played by Skyler Gisondo in *Superman*) and could introduce Gorilla Grodd to the DC Universe. Another show is planned to tell the story of Mister Terrific, as portrayed by Edi Gathegi. James Gunn has hinted at a yet-to-be-announced DC project, suggesting a promising future for DC’s television plans.
