Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen has finished, with 12 episodes that covered the beginning of the Culling Game arc. The season showed us what makes this sorcerer tournament so unique and spent a lot of time introducing new characters and setting the stage for the challenges to come. It mainly focused on the preparations leading up to the game itself.
Throughout the twelve episodes of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, you can expect plenty of action and clashes between sorcerers, along with the developing relationships between the characters. While each episode is good, some are particularly memorable.
12) Episode 3 – About the Culling Game

Honestly, this season has been non-stop, but this episode was a welcome breather – and it was crucial. It really dove deep into explaining the Culling Game itself, laying out all the rules and details. More importantly, we finally got a much clearer picture of who Kenjaku is and what he’s planning. It was all about setting the stage for what’s to come, and I really appreciated it!
This episode also explained what the sorcerers need to accomplish, primarily focusing on their efforts to free Gojo. While packed with information, it felt a little dense at times. It’s ranked lower only because the rest of this season has been so consistently action-packed.
11) Episode 8 – Tokyo No. 1 Colony Part 2

Like the third episode this season, Episode 8 spends a lot of time building details and backstory. However, what really makes this episode stand out is the introduction of Higuruma and the exploration of how his legal background shaped him into a unique sorcerer. This episode demonstrates that compelling dark storytelling is a key strength of Jujutsu Kaisen.
The episode also reveals details about Yuji’s past, showing what life was like for him in middle school. It builds to a thrilling fight between Yuji and Higuruma while simultaneously putting Megumi in a dangerous situation with Reggie Star and his followers – a great combination of exciting action and important backstory.
10) Episode 7 – Tokyo No. 1 Colony

The real challenge of the Culling Game starts in Episode 7 when Yuji and Megumi reach the Tokyo No. 1 Colony. They quickly discover a hidden rule: players are unexpectedly sent to different locations. This immediately puts Yuji in danger, as he’s targeted by other players who are trying to eliminate newcomers.
Just as things were heating up, Megumi encountered a girl who explained that everyone had been forced into a team, and the sorcerers already there weren’t allowed to leave – meaning they had no choice but to fight. The episode was a strong start to the Culling Game, with Yuji demonstrating his raw power and Megumi showing just how far he’s willing to go, even to kill.
9) Episode 5 – Passion

Episode 5 centers around getting ready for the Culling Game, and Yuji and Megumi’s attempt to bring Hakari into the fight. Their search leads them to Hakari’s fighting club, which playfully nods to the rules of the movie Fight Club. The episode also includes an entertaining match between Yuji and Panda as they look for Hakari, and ultimately, Yuji’s performance earns him a chance to meet him.
Kirara’s unexpected appearance throws a wrench into their plans to recruit Hakari, leading to a full-blown battle that plays out spectacularly in the next episode.
8) Episode 2 – One More Time

The season started with a special movie, and the first two episodes were actually part of that. Because of this, this episode felt particularly strong as it wrapped up the movie’s story. The fight between Choso and Naoya Zenin was a real highlight, and it’s a great indication of how full of action this season will be.
Yuta’s imposing presence, even in minor scenes, was a welcome addition. The episode concluded with the characters preparing to enter the Culling Game and meet Tengen, making it visually stunning and a highlight of an already beautifully animated season.
7) Episode 10 – Tokyo No. 1 Colony Part 4

When Megumi was captured by Reggie Star and his followers, everyone knew he’d fight back, and he did exactly that. Driven to earn points and impose his own rules in the Culling Game, Megumi aggressively challenged other players, defeating them without hesitation whenever he could.
Honestly, having Fumihiko Takaba show up was a brilliant move – he really added some fun to the episode and kept me hooked! And wow, ending with Megumi really letting loose against Reggie Star? That was incredible! It’s easily one of the best action episodes we’ve seen so far, and it was so satisfying to finally see Megumi get his moment to shine. He deserves it as a key supporting character.
6) Episode 6 – Cog

Yuji isn’t your typical shonen hero, so the episode that really dives into his beliefs and what makes him tick is easily one of the best. It starts with a great fight featuring Megumi and Panda against Kirara, showing off their teamwork and smarts. But the real standout moment is Yuji’s confrontation with Hakari.
Despite a severe beating from Hakari, Yuji refuses to give up, viewing himself as just a small part of a larger purpose. This unwavering determination makes him stand out as a truly exceptional shonen hero, and it’s a major reason why this episode is so compelling.
5) Episode 9 – Tokyo No. 1 Colony Part 3

Yuji’s had several tough fights this season, but his battle with Higuruma is particularly memorable. Higuruma’s special ability really put Yuji in a difficult spot, and the episode was well-made, again showing just how physically strong and different Yuji is from most other characters.
When Higuruma blames Yuji for the Shibuya massacre, Yuji surprisingly takes responsibility, showing the hidden emotional pain he usually keeps hidden. In the end, his strong sense of right and wrong allows him to overcome Higuruma and establish a crucial new rule in the competition.
4) Episode 11 – Tokyo No. 1 Colony Part 5

The next episode shows Megumi continuing his fight against Reggie Star, further demonstrating his growth as a sorcerer. The animation is excellent, especially during Megumi’s use of his Domain Expansion and a final, intense hand-to-hand battle. Ultimately, Megumi’s intelligence allows him to win.
The episode features an entertaining fight between Takaba and Iori, with Iori growing increasingly frustrated as her attacks don’t seem to affect Takaba. It’s then revealed that Takaba has an incredibly strong defense, possibly even on par with Gojo’s.
3) Episode 1 – Execution

This week’s episode, continuing the story from the recent movie, felt noticeably different in its approach. The highlight was definitely Yuta’s return and his intention to eliminate Yuji, leading to a perfectly choreographed fight between them.
This episode was packed with small, impressive details, showing that the season is already exceeding expectations. It’s visually stunning and a fantastic way to kick off what promises to be an exciting season.
2) Episode 4 – Perfect Preparation

I watched as Maki prepared for the upcoming Culling Game, sent down to the Zenin clan’s basement to collect supplies. It quickly became clear this wasn’t a simple errand, though. She ended up facing her entire clan, with her father even trying to kill her in a desperate attempt to climb the ranks. After Mai’s death and Maki developing a powerful, Toji-like ability, she made the shocking decision to wipe out the Zenin clan completely.
Honestly, MAPPA absolutely blew me away with how they handled this arc! They didn’t just adapt it, they elevated it with what has to be one of their most visually stunning episodes ever. They really took their time, expanding key moments and even throwing in some awesome nods to Kill Bill Vol. 1 – it gave Maki’s fight against the Zenin clan such a powerful, unique style. I thought it might be the peak of the season, but then they delivered that finale and just completely shattered expectations!
1) Episode 12 – Sendai Colony

The season finale of Jujutsu Kaisen centers around a fierce four-way fight in the Sendai Colony, with Yuta taking center stage. The animation quality is noticeably higher in this episode, suggesting it’s a particular favorite of the studio, MAPPA. The intense battle against the ancient sorcerers effectively conveys just how frightening the Culling Game really is.
Fans worried that the anime adaptation of seven chapters wouldn’t include everything, but MAPPA surprised everyone by actually expanding the fight sequence, creating a spectacular finale. Episode 12 of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 isn’t just the best of the season – it’s considered one of the best episodes in the entire anime by IMDb users, and it will be hard to surpass.
