The first four seasons of the Amazon Prime Video series The Boys have shown us 14 members of the Seven, Vought International’s elite superhero team. Based on the comic book by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Boys offers a unique take on the superhero genre. Unlike traditional heroes, the show’s “Supes” are created and controlled by the powerful corporation Vought International, often using their abilities selfishly, despite being seen as heroes by most people. The Seven represent the very best of these Supes.
Like the teams in Marvel’s Avengers or DC’s Justice League, ‘The Seven’ is a group of superheroes with different powers, led by the artificially created Homelander (Antony Starr). However, their heroic acts are often fake – everything is planned and staged. This frequently leads to real problems when they try to handle genuine crises. A group called ‘The Boys,’ led by Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), actively opposes The Seven, causing frequent changes within the team as they’ve managed to take out or discredit several members. Over time, a total of 14 different super-powered individuals have been part of The Seven, though some are much stronger than others.
14) The Deep

Kevin Kohler, known as The Deep (played by Chace Crawford), is often made fun of by his teammates because his powers aren’t very effective in most fights. Like Aquaman or Namor, he can talk to and breathe underwater with sea creatures, but this ability rarely proves useful. The Deep is also a deeply flawed character; his inappropriate behavior gets him kicked off the team in the first season, though Homelander later brings him back under his control. Ultimately, his powers are unhelpful, and he lacks the respect and influence of the other members, making him the weakest of The Boys.
13) Firecracker

Misty Tucker, known as Firecracker (played by Valorie Curry), joined the Seven in season four of The Boys. While her power – creating small, explosive sparks – isn’t particularly strong, she wields considerable influence. Currently, Homelander relies on her to fulfill unusual desires, and she’s become a key figure among right-wing extremist groups. Firecracker has exploited this position to spread negativity towards Starlight (Erin Moriarty), leveraging their past conflict to repeatedly hinder the Boys’ efforts. Despite her relatively weak superpower, her overall impact is significant.
12) Mister Marathon

Though we haven’t seen him on screen yet, Mister Marathon is a character mentioned in the TV show The Boys as the previous speedster member of The Seven, before A-Train. He held the position for at least a year before A-Train took over. In the original comic book series, Mister Marathon was killed by Homelander, which created the opening for A-Train to join—and he was actually considered more powerful than A-Train. However, in the TV adaptation, Mister Marathon is still alive, implying that A-Train is now the more powerful speedster.
11) A-Train

Although A-Train is faster than Mister Marathon in The Boys, both are less powerful than many other heroes in the series. A-Train, especially before his heart transplant and reliance on Compound V, often found himself struggling. Now, he’s broken away from the Seven and is working with the resistance, alongside characters like Starlight and Marie Moreau from Gen V. While A-Train’s speed is notable, it doesn’t compare to abilities like invisibility, controlling fire, manipulating light, or possessing genius-level intelligence.
10) Translucent

I always thought Translucent, played by Alex Hassell in The Boys, was a fascinating Supe. His power – basically being invisible and completely untouchable thanks to his skin – made him a really effective member of the original Seven and a natural for covert ops. He was definitely more physically powerful than guys like A-Train or even Firecracker, and could outlast Mister Marathon, but the fact that Hughie managed to take him down in season one proved he wasn’t invincible like some of the other Seven members. It was a clever bit of storytelling, showing that even a seemingly unstoppable Supe has a weakness.
9) Supersonic

Like Translucent, Alex, also known as Supersonic (played by Miles Gaston Villanueva), didn’t get much chance to show what he could do before being killed off in The Boys. However, while Hughie was responsible for Translucent’s death, it was Homelander who killed Supersonic—motivated by jealousy and a desire to control Starlight, as they’d known each other since childhood. Supersonic had the ability to create powerful sonic booms, as seen in his “Rock My Kiss” music video, capable of shattering glass and potentially causing serious injuries. He could have been a valuable addition to The Seven, but his life was cut short.
8) Lamplighter

It’s unfortunate we didn’t get to see more of Lamplighter (played by Shawn Ashmore) before he was killed off in season 2 of The Boys. He had the power to control and amplify fire, and demonstrated this by killing several other Supes at the Sage Grove Center. Lamplighter previously clashed with the Boys, an encounter that resulted in the deaths of Grace Mallory’s grandchildren. This incident led to his removal from the Seven just before season 1 began, making room for a stronger Supe.
7) Black Noir II

Although Supersonic’s sonic clap is noteworthy, Black Noir II (Nathan Mitchell) is significantly more powerful. After the original Black Noir died, a new hero was brought in to take his place in The Seven, and the public hasn’t noticed the switch. While Black Noir II has comparable strength, speed, and resilience – and can even fly – he isn’t as strong as his predecessor. Still, he’s easily capable of defeating ordinary people and has proven his toughness by surviving a fierce attack from The Boys.
6) Queen Maeve

Maggie Shaw, known as Queen Maeve (played by Dominique McElligott), is significantly stronger than Black Noir II, even considering his enhanced strength. She’s essentially The Boys’ take on Wonder Woman, possessing extraordinary strength, resilience, stamina, and the ability to jump incredibly high. She’s proven she can survive attacks from powerful opponents like Homelander and Stormfront. While she used to be the second-strongest member of The Seven, exposure to Soldier Boy’s radiation has taken away her powers, and she doesn’t have any other special abilities to compensate.
5) Black Noir

Before becoming Black Noir II, Nathan Mitchell played Earving, the original Black Noir—a superhero known for his incredible agility and fighting skills. Though Queen Maeve was physically strong, Black Noir was a more dangerous opponent due to his ninja-like movements and acrobatic abilities. He was also very fit and could heal quickly, giving him a longer life than most Supes. Despite his power, Homelander easily defeated him when he discovered Noir knew the truth about his origins. Black Noir had one significant weakness: a severe nut allergy.
4) Starlight

Although Black Noir is likely stronger than Starlight in a direct fight, Starlight actually has a wider range of abilities, making her overall more powerful – and the fact that she’s still alive helps! She can absorb energy from light and electricity, which she then uses to create powerful blasts and even fly. This power is significant, as she’s managed to push back even incredibly strong opponents like Soldier Boy, A-Train, and Homelander. Beyond her powers, Starlight’s popularity and role as the leader of the resistance movement against Homelander also give her a lot of influence.
3) Stormfront

I always found Stormfront to be a really terrifying villain, and it’s crazy to think about how she was able to essentially start a new life as herself after being known as Liberty way back in the 60s and 70s. Like Black Noir, she lived for a long time! What makes her so dangerous, even more so than a lot of other Supes in The Boys, is just how powerful and influential she was – and her energy blasts were way stronger than Starlight’s, capable of destroying entire buildings. It was shocking to see her hurt by little Ryan, though, and even more shocking that she ultimately took her own life rather than face Homelander.
2) Homelander

Stormfront was incredibly powerful, like many of the super-powered individuals in The Boys, but none of them compare to Homelander. Created in a Vought laboratory as part of Project Odessa, Homelander lacks social skills but has been rigorously trained to be the ideal public hero. He’s The Boys‘ dark take on Superman, possessing abilities like flight, immense strength and resilience, laser vision, x-ray vision, enhanced senses and reflexes, and rapid healing. Heading into season 5, he even wields a level of political power, solidifying his role as the show’s biggest threat – though there’s still one Supe even more powerful than him.
1) Sister Sage

While Homelander would win in a physical fight against Jessica Bradley, also known as Sister Sage, she’s actually far more powerful overall. Her incredible intelligence and ability to predict probabilities allow her to control Homelander, despite his strength. Sister Sage is the smartest person alive, with a constantly regenerating brain that gives her advanced skills, a perfect memory, and makes her unafraid of other superpowered individuals. She’s the mastermind behind Homelander’s rise to power in The Boys and was responsible for bringing Thomas Godolkin back into the picture in Gen V. It’s clear her influence has no boundaries, and her abilities could lead to even bigger developments in the future.
