While Avengers: Endgame delivered a truly unforgettable story within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, not every hero from that battle will be central to how the Multiverse Saga concludes. Since the very beginning, the MCU has expanded, adding more characters and storylines, which eventually became known as the Infinity Saga. That saga reached its peak when the Avengers defeated Thanos, though the victory came at a great cost. Many of the heroes who fought alongside the Avengers in Endgame are among the most powerful in the entire franchise.
While many heroes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe are still fighting, they may not be strong enough to defeat Doctor Doom in the final battle of the Multiverse Saga. The Avengers have already lost two key leaders – Steve Rogers has retired, and Tony Stark gave his life to defeat Thanos. Of the heroes expected to return in Avengers: Doomsday, some have a real chance against Doctor Doom, but others will likely struggle against his immense power.
7) Ant-Man

Some fans think Ant-Man’s time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe might be coming to an end after Phase 6, and a final battle against Doctor Doom could be a fitting conclusion. While many heroes from Avengers: Endgame have already had their stories conclude, Ant-Man remains an option. Though he has considerable power, he’s no match for Doctor Doom, who would likely win against him easily.
6) Spider-Man

Spider-Man fought alongside the Avengers in Avengers: Endgame, and while he’s not as strong as some of the other heroes, he’s a promising one. He’s a skilled fighter and thinker thanks to his spider-like powers and intelligence. This has led to some exciting moments in his movies, but he’s still no match for Doctor Doom. While Spider-Man might have a small chance of winning, Doom is likely too powerful for him.
5) Hulk

Many fans believe Hulk might sacrifice himself in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, considering his long history as one of the MCU’s most powerful heroes. Avengers: Endgame successfully merged Bruce Banner and Hulk into a single, intelligent and incredibly strong being. This makes Hulk a formidable opponent, potentially able to fight Doctor Doom effectively. However, Doctor Doom still has the upper hand, as Hulk has been shown to be easily controlled, and Doom is skilled at exploiting others’ weaknesses to win.
4) Wanda Maximoff

Wanda Maximoff would likely rank higher on this list if she were still alive in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After being influenced by the Darkhold, she became a villain known as the Scarlet Witch, and proved to be one of the MCU’s most powerful magic users. Her unique chaos magic gives her a strong chance of winning against Doctor Doom in a one-on-one fight, but unfortunately, she is currently deceased, which significantly lowers her odds.
3) Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange is a key magic user in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Though Thanos turned him to dust early in Avengers: Endgame, he returned to fight and helped save Earth. He’s one of the MCU’s most powerful heroes, and his magical abilities and quick thinking give him a good chance in a fight against even formidable opponents like Doctor Doom.
2) Thor

Many fans believe Thor should be a central figure in the Avengers’ upcoming battle with Doctor Doom, and with good reason. He proved his strength and desire for redemption during the fight against Thanos in Avengers: Endgame, solidifying his place as one of the MCU’s most powerful heroes. Doctor Doom would face a tough fight against Thor, and would likely need advanced technology to stand a chance against the Asgardian’s abilities.
1) Captain Marvel

Captain Marvel is now one of the most unpredictable heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She’s incredibly powerful and can likely defeat almost any villain in a direct fight. We saw how much trouble she gave Thanos in Avengers: Endgame, and it’s likely Doctor Doom would face similar challenges. Given her immense cosmic power and strong determination, Captain Marvel is probably the hero Doctor Doom would have the hardest time beating.
