Following the success of Jujutsu Kaisen, the new series Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo feels very similar to the original. Created by the same author, Gege Akutami, it maintains the same style and exciting action that fans loved.
I’m a huge fan of this series, and while it’s always been planned to be relatively short, it feels like it’s wrapped up with Chapter 23! That probably means we won’t see any big new battles, which is a little bittersweet. Because the story is so concise, most of the conflicts are smaller scale – some are more like skirmishes, honestly. But there are definitely five fights that really stood out as major moments, and I’ve been ranking them in my head. Here’s how they stack up!
5) Tsurugi and Yuka VS. Human Trafficker

Like many action-packed stories, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo begins with a longer first chapter. This chapter introduces a one-off villain who helps establish the world, key concepts, and overall feel of the series. The chapter culminates in a brief fight between this villain, a human trafficker, and the Okkotsu siblings. While not a lengthy battle, it’s packed with important information and quickly grabs your attention.
The conflict highlights the strained relationship between the siblings, who are also arguing with each other during the scene. It also shows what’s currently happening in the world of Jujutsu through the villain’s actions. Tsurugi and Yuka manage to trap the villain, but just when he’s about to unleash a powerful attack, Maru intervenes with his cursed technique, surprisingly revealing he’s not human. Though it’s not much of a battle, this encounter effectively sets up future events and deserves credit, even if it’s not the most exciting.
4) Tsurugi and Maru VS. The Cursed User

The next part of the story was planned to include Cursed Users – those who misuse magical powers for selfish reasons – to create conflict and challenge the main characters. As Maru and Tsurugi got closer while learning about Japanese traditions and the world of magic, they met an older, powerful Cursed User named Masaki Takeda. This encounter resulted in a battle that lasted for several chapters.
Masaki proved to be the heroes’ most challenging opponent yet, even causing Maru to struggle with his control. This pressure led Maru to unleash a previously hidden ability, which quickly defeated Masaki. While the fight ended swiftly after that reveal, it was the first truly significant battle that showcased the heart of what makes the series special and left fans thrilled.
3) Yuji VS. Mahito (Rematch)

This isn’t much of a battle, really, but the excitement leading up to it makes it one of the best fights in the series so far. Fans were eager for a showdown after learning Mahito might still be alive and confirming Yuji’s status as a sorcerer, and this quick fight gave them exactly that. Though it’s short – only lasting a few pages – it’s a very memorable moment.
Mahito, believing he has complete control over the Pathway of the Souls and that Yuji is the only one vulnerable there, becomes overconfident and transforms the area into a replica of Shibuya, where they previously battled. But before Mahito can fully activate his domain, Yuji swiftly defeats him with a single blow, ridiculing his consistent weakness. This fight highlights Yuji’s incredible power as the new strongest character, demonstrating a level of strength unlike anything seen before.
2) Tsurugi VS. Maru

Everyone hoped the growing bond between Tsurugi and Maru would help humans and Simurians live together peacefully, so it was shocking when they became opponents. Their fight was especially meaningful because both were fighting for their siblings.
The fight truly surprised viewers when Tsurugi transformed by unleashing Rika, the Queen of Curses. This created a thrilling battle, pairing a powerful fighter like Maki or Toji with the Queen of Curses – a fantastic and exciting combination. The emotional conclusion, with Tsurugi’s sacrifice, makes this fight stand out as one of the best in Modulo, and arguably, the entire series.
1) Mahoraga VS. Dabura

The battle between Yuka and Dabura, which was supposed to determine everyone’s fate, took an unexpected turn when Yuka summoned Mahoraga. Mahoraga’s arrival was as thrilling as when Yuji first appeared in the story. Because Mahoraga is known for being able to adapt to anything, he immediately seemed like the perfect opponent for Dabura, a fighter considered as powerful as Sukuna, and even managed to intimidate him.
Just when Dabura appeared to be losing, he began to grasp the principles of Jujutsu, pushing past his limits to learn powerful techniques like Reversed Cursed Technique and even Domain Expansion. Unfortunately, the fight was cut short when Maru intervened, determined to protect Yuka. This forced Dabura to concede and return home, leaving the battle unresolved. Despite the lack of a clear winner, this fight is widely considered the best in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, and one of the best in the entire series, perfectly embodying the exciting action that defines it.
