Susan Lucci‘s bond with Michael B. Jordan extends beyond the TV screen.
After winning the Best Actor Oscar in 2026, the actor received flowers from Susan, who played his stepmother on the soap opera All My Children in the early 2000s.
Susan congratulated Michael B. Jordan on his Oscar win in an Instagram post on March 16th, sharing an old photo of them together. She said she watched the ceremony and was thrilled to see him win, praising his acceptance speech as beautiful, gracious, and genuine.
“So proud to have worked with Michael on AMC!!!” she added. “What a spectacular actor he is!!!”
In a moving speech, 39-year-old Michael expressed his gratitude to everyone who supported him along the way to receiving the award.
He expressed his gratitude to everyone present and watching at home for their support throughout his career, saying he truly felt it. Hosted by Conan O’Brien, the ceremony saw him explain that he wanted to succeed because his supporters had believed in him, and he appreciated their continued faith. He promised to keep improving and strive to be his best self.
I was so touched when he thanked his parents, Donna Jordan and Michael A. Jordan! They made the incredible journey all the way overseas to be there for him and see everything he’s accomplished. It meant so much to him, and you could really feel the love and support.
As you all know, I love my mother, and my father is here with me. He actually traveled all the way from Ghana to be here.
Michael previously discussed how playing Reggie Montgomery on All My Children from 2003 to 2006 was important for his career.
I’ll never forget my time on that show – it was a real learning experience for me! I was so lucky to get to learn the ropes alongside such talented actors like Susan, Darnell Williams, and Walt Willey. It was truly an honor to work with them and watch how they approached their craft.
We were incredibly productive, completing over 100 pages of script each day – basically, an episode and a half. It was a really fast-paced environment. For someone who hadn’t had formal acting training, that experience was my real education. I learned everything from working with those actors.
