While exploring Kairos in Borderlands 4, you’ve probably discovered the unsettling collectibles called Dead Bolts. These implants belonged to people who suffered under the Timekeeper’s rule and now act as both items to collect and haunting reminders of the past. Each Dead Bolt you find is linked to a specific character, offering a final look at their story before their fate. They’re definitely creepy, but also worth collecting!
Okay, so I’m gonna show you where to find all the Dead Bolts in The Howl. This region is part of the bigger Fadefields, and honestly, it’s already full of tough enemies and cool stuff to grab. But finding these Dead Bolts is a bit of a scavenger hunt, so I’m here to make it easier on you. Let’s dive in and get them all!
All The Howl Dead Bolt Locations
Before we look at specific locations, keep this in mind: Dead Bolts are always located near a body. When you interact with one, you’ll get a final message from the person who died-it’s often emotional or strange, but always worth it. Finding all of the Dead Bolts adds to the game’s story and helps players who want to complete everything in The Fadefields.
Now, let’s break down exactly where to find the Dead Bolts in The Howl.
Dead Bolt #1 | Kit Hole, The Howl
The first Dead Bolt in The Howl can be found northwest of the Kit Hole, which is an Order silo. Leave the silo and head northwest into the forest. You’ll easily spot a strange nest area. The Dead Bolt is located right on the nest, next to a corpse.
Dead Bolt #2 | The Fadefields, The Howl
You can find the second Bolt northwest of Shut Eye Keep in The Fadefields. If you’ve unlocked the Safehouse, use fast travel to get closer. Starting from Shut Eye Keep, head northwest along the road until you see a lake on the southwest side of the map. Cross the lake, and you’ll discover a small camp with another fallen NPC – the next Dead Bolt is there.
Wrapping Up
You’ve found two Dead Bolts in The Howl, but there are still more hidden throughout the Fadefields. Each one reveals a sad little story, and if you like to collect everything, you won’t want to miss them. The Howl can be a bit overwhelming to explore, but having these locations marked will give you a good head start.
Gather your gear, remember the stories of those who came before, and continue the search-the Fadefields won’t investigate themselves!
