All Upcoming Fights in the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Movie Trilogy

I can hardly contain my excitement! On July 18th, 2025, I’ll be diving into the first installment of the groundbreaking Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle trilogy in Japan! And mark your calendars for September 12th, 2025, when it graces U.S. theaters. Ufotable is taking an extraordinary approach to conclude this series’ climactic final arc – one that was inspired by the astounding success of the Infinity Train movie!

The film will pick up where we left off, as our Demon Slayers find themselves mysteriously ensnared within the elusive Infinity Castle, Muzan’s long-hidden lair. After barely managing to wound the demon progenitor, they now face an unprecedented challenge: battling the Upper Moons – each with their own extraordinary abilities!

This is going to be a thrilling ride I can’t wait to embark on!

From my perspective as an onlooker, it’s evident that the leading trio exhibits an unprecedented power level, promising a captivating struggle ahead. As a fan immersed in the world of Demon Slayer, I must admit that no other arc within the series delves as deeply into combat as the Infinity Castle does. The narrative offers a rollercoaster ride of exhilarating moments alongside heart-wrenching defeats the Demon Slayer Corps experiences.

What sets this arc apart is the fact that many confrontations are fueled by personal motivations, adding layers of intrigue to each encounter. In essence, it’s the emotional stakes involved in these battles that make them truly compelling.

Warning: This article contains spoilers from the Demon Slayer manga!

1) Shinobu Kocho vs. Doma

Compared to an average Demon Slayer in raw power, Shinobu trails behind significantly. Yet, she ascended to the Hashira ranks by developing a unique poison that instantly eliminates demons, which she applies to her sword’s blade and injects into them during combat. Her exceptional speed is a counterbalance to her lack of brute force, often leaving even demons struggling to keep pace with her. However, Doma isn’t your typical demon; he stands as the Upper Moon Two, one of the most powerful demons ever known in history.

I, as an observer, can see that Shinobu harbors a deep grudge against the demon, a fact that makes their confrontation perfectly fitting. She was well aware that vanquishing an Upper Moon Two was nearly insurmountable, hence her meticulous planning of a strategy, alas one that would ultimately cost her life. For about a year, she had been self-poisoning to render any demon consuming her significantly weakened. Recognizing Doma’s penchant for devouring women, she calculated that he wouldn’t pass up the chance to consume a female Hashira. In her final act, Shinobu entrusted her sister Kanao with delivering the fatal blow to the demon once she had perished.

2) Zenitsu Agatsuma vs. Kaigaku

If you found Zenitsu’s icy stare in the Infinity Castle trailer unsettling, be prepared for his battle against Kaigaku to send shivers down your spine. During his final stage of Hashira Training, Zenitsu discovers that his master, the former Thunder Hashira, performed seppuku, a traditional form of suicide, after Kaigaku intentionally transformed into a demon. In fact, Kaigaku swiftly rose to Upper Moon Six to fill the vacancy before their ultimate clash. This loss of his beloved mentor pushes Zenitsu past any doubt.

Even though Kaigaku retained his human memories, he never expressed remorse for his actions. Strangely enough, Zenistu and Kaigaku trained under the same master, but their relationship was far from harmonious due to Kaigaku’s frequent mockery of Zenitsu. Despite this, Zenitsu struggled to learn even the simplest form, a challenge that even Kaigaku found difficult to conquer. The battle between them was short-lived, but it took an unexpected turn when Zenitsu swiftly defeated the demon with a unique seventh form he had developed on his own.

3) Tanjiro Kamado and Giyu Tomioka vs. Akaza

The tragic loss of Rengoku, the Flame Pillar, left a significant mark on Tanjiro, as he respected his courage and felt sorrow over his passing. At that moment, Akaza chose to ignore Tanjiro, considering him unimportant. Contrarily, despite being mortally wounded, Rengoku nearly held off Akaza until dawn, but the demon escaped just in time. Later on, Tanjiro, accompanied by Giyu, crossed paths with Akaza once more within the Infinity Castle.

In contrast to their past encounters during the Mount Natagumo arc, Giyu and Tanjiro’s alliance now presents an equal battle dynamic. This underscores Tanjiro’s remarkable growth, allowing him to engage in a direct confrontation with a Hashira. Despite their united efforts, they struggled significantly against Upper Moon Three. Both Demon Slayers exerted their utmost strength, unveiling abilities they were previously unaware of. The narrative also delves into Akaza’s heart-rending past and his poignant, serene farewell.

4) Kanao Tsuyuri and Inosuke Hashibira vs Doma

Following Shinobu’s heart-wrenching demise, I didn’t hesitate to take on Upper Moon Two head-on, a challenge that Doma, having devoured a Hashira, ought to have breezed through. Yet, he underestimated the cunning of Shinobu who concocted an ingenious plan – poisoning herself with a potion that weakens demons. As a result, Doma’s strength started to falter, affecting his powers significantly. Nonetheless, I was still struggling against the demon. However, Shinobu, confident in her sister’s abilities, entrusted me with this formidable task.

It didn’t take too much time for Inosuke to show up at the location, offering his assistance. Kanao isn’t just fighting this demon for the Corps, but also to avenge her sisters. Similar to Inosuke, he also learns about his mother’s death at Doma’s hands. His memories as a baby return to him, recalling the brief moments he spent with his mother and the reason behind their parting. Both young Demon Slayers gave it their all, ultimately completing what Shinobu had begun. Not long after, Doma was reduced to nothingness.

5) Mitsuri Kanroji and Obanai Iguro vs Nakime

In their battle against Nakime, a newly appointed Upper-Rank Four Demon and the one commanding the Infinity Castle (her blood demon art), Mitsuri and Obanai find themselves in a tough spot. The Infinity Castle gives Nakime an edge, as it puts Demon Slayers at a significant disadvantage while they’re inside it. However, they quickly grasped her powers, which only fueled their determination to defeat her. Unlike other Upper Moons, Nakime isn’t combat-focused; this is probably why Muzan never created an Upper Moon from her, despite her valuable abilities.

Despite being inexperienced in battle, Nakime compensated by using her intelligence effectively. Utilizing her Blood Demon Art, she strategically rearranged the fortress layout, creating barriers that kept Mitsuri and Obanai apart, making it difficult for them to coordinate attacks or approach her directly. However, with the teamwork of the Hashira, Nakime ultimately lost the battle, allowing Yushiro to seize control over her vision and reveal Muzan to sunlight.

6) Muichiro Tokito, Genya Shinazugawa, Sanemi Shinazugawa, and Gyomei Himejima vs Kokushibo

Kokushibo is the top-tier demon, second only to Muzan in strength. His abilities surpass those of Upper Moon demons Two and Three significantly, making it challenging even for multiple Demon Slayers to defeat him easily. The battle with Kokushibo is emotional and requires numerous sacrifices. It also delves into his past, revealing his bond with his twin brother Yoriichi Tsugikuni. In contrast to Yoriichi, who committed himself entirely to the goal of vanquishing Muzan, Kokushibo forsook his humanity due to fear, living as a demon ever since.

During the fierce conflict, it came to light that Muichiro is a direct descendant of Kokushibo, explaining why the Demon Slayer Corps sought to enlist him and his brother. Moreover, the fight delved into the emotional struggles faced by the Shinazugawa brothers. Despite Gyomei’s assistance, they barely managed to halt Kokushibo, and ultimately, he perished not just due to being overpowered or wounded, but also because his determination started to falter, playing a role in his downfall.

7) Demon Slayers vs. Muzan Kibutsuji (Second Round)

As a passionate follower of the Demon Slayer Corps, I can’t help but reflect on the unfinished battle against Muzan, which was abruptly halted following Kagaya Ubuyashiki’s demise. Yet, there was a glimmer of hope when Tamayo managed to inject him with a potent poison she concocted alongside Shinobu, significantly debilitating him. The subsequent fight in the Infinity Castle left us all battered and drained, yet there was no time for respite.

In the aftermath of this brutal encounter, we were left physically wounded, emotionally scarred, and mourning our fallen comrades. But as the surviving members of the Demon Slayer Corps, we face Muzan once more – the demon progenitor who has caused us so much pain. The battle continues, and we stand ready to fight on.

Given the circumstances, it’s no surprise that Muzan managed to hold his ground, even when he was pinned down. This is why cutting off his head wasn’t a feasible option for the Demon Slayers; they had to keep him exposed until dawn instead. However, as one might guess, keeping him at bay proved more challenging than anticipated, resulting in numerous casualties within the Corps. Regrettably, Muzan eventually turned into dust.

8) Demon Slayers vs. Tanjiro Kamado

It came as a shock that on the verge of death, Muzan still had one surprise in store. The entire Demon Slayer Corps was almost annihilated during the prolonged fight, only to find themselves on the brink of victory. However, at the very moment they tasted success, Muzan mustered his remaining strength and transfused his blood into Tanjiro, thereby transforming him into a demon. This transformation not only enhanced Tanjiro’s power but also gave him the ability to control the sun – a goal that had long been cherished by Muzan himself.

In this rephrased version, we find the Demon Slayers confronting a valuable ally within their Corps who had played a pivotal role in their mission. Tanjiro, overcome by some unknown force, launched an aggressive attack against Giyu and Inosuke, who were attempting to restrain him. It wasn’t until Nezuko appeared that he began to regain his composure. With the last of her energy, Kanao administered a medicine meant to restore Tanjiro’s humanity. Meanwhile, while the rest of the Demon Slayers fought against him, Tanjiro battled the control Muzan had over him. In the end, with the collective effort of everyone involved, Tanjiro was restored to his human state, and Muzan turned into dust, marking the beginning of a new peaceful era that came at an immense cost – many lives lost.
