Allison Holker Honors Stephen “tWitch” Boss on His 43rd Birthday

Allison Holker is making sure Stephen “tWitch” Boss’ legacy lives on.

To honor his memory, Allison and their children – Weslie, 17, Maddox, 9, and Zaia, 5 – celebrated what would have been his 43rd birthday by enjoying some of his favorite foods and activities.

“Happy heavenly birthday Stephen,” Allison wrote in the caption of her Instagram post on Sept. 29. “We love you and continue to feel your presence in our lives. We honored your memory by enjoying some of the things you loved most-Korean BBQ, a visit to a comic book store, and cookies and cream.”

She added, “Sending you all our love and support and appreciate yours.”

The first picture from the carousel showed the family of four happily holding cupcakes with lit candles, and a cookies and cream cake was visible on the counter in front of them. In other photos, Maddox and Zaia beamed as they displayed their new comic books, and the whole group of four posed at their table at the Korean BBQ restaurant.

Allison concluded her post with an old photo from a Christmas celebration with tWitch. The picture shows their family of five standing in front of a Christmas tree, with Weslie holding Maddox and Allison holding Zaia. tWitch is smiling in the background.

It has been three years since tWitch tragically died by suicide at age 40. Since then, Allison-who was married to the dancer for nearly 10 years before his death in 2022-has openly shared her experiences with grief, both with the public and with tWitch’s many devoted fans.

In a detailed post on her Instagram Story on January 8th, she addressed fans of Stephen and those close to her, writing, “I want to make it clear that my sole purpose in writing this book is to share my personal experiences and a portion of my life with Stephen, hoping it can help others – just like it might help you.”

For readers of the book, Allison explained, “I hope you’ll understand that my goal was to honor the love and life Stephen and I shared, along with the joy our three children brought us, while also acknowledging the challenging parts of both our lives.”

Many of the details she shared came from her 2025 memoir, This Far: My Story of Love, Loss and Embracing the Light. In it, the So You Think You Can Dance star discussed her relationship with tWitch and what happened after his death.

However, Allison explained that she struggled with deciding what details to include in the book. As she wrote in her memoir, “I really wrestled with how much to reveal about Stephen’s last few months. Ultimately, it was his life and his story, and he was very private about it when he was alive.”

But despite her doubts, the 37-year-old hoped the public would understand her intentions.
