Alysa Liu won’t be adding a Mirrorball trophy to her mantle anytime soon.
The professional figure skater, a two-time gold medalist at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Olympics, shared that appearing on Dancing With the Stars isn’t her main focus right now, after her impressive win at the Winter Games.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, published on March 16th, she said she wasn’t sure about appearing on Dancing with the Stars. While she enjoys dancing and believes she’s a good dancer, she’s still undecided about joining the show.
Alysa, 20, didn’t seem eager to join the ABC competition series if offered a spot, but she admitted she might feel differently in the future.
“At least for now,” she continued, “that’s my answer.”
The athlete, who recently returned home after becoming the first American woman in nearly a quarter-century to win an individual Olympic skating competition, has been getting a lot of attention. However, she recently asked for privacy following a scary experience while traveling.
She shared on Instagram Stories on March 4th that when she arrived at the airport, a large crowd was waiting with cameras and items for her to sign. She felt crowded and said someone even ran after her as she went to her car.
Alysa added, “Please do not do that to me.”

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’ve been following this athlete’s journey, and it’s been wonderful to see so many positive outcomes! Recently, she unveiled a new routine set to music by Zara Larsson and PinkPantheress – their song ‘Stateside,’ to be exact – and Zara herself shared the sweetest reaction to it on TikTok. It’s moments like these that really highlight the power of music and sport connecting with each other and with fans!
Alysa recently told TopMob News she was thrilled with the pop star’s video, calling the mention “everything” she could have asked for.
She explained that the quality of her programs depended on the strength of the music, adding that she felt a real connection to the songs.
