Bring in the dancing lobsters—because Amanda Bynes has new music.
Amanda Bynes, known from The Amanda Show, is releasing her first new song in four years, called “GIRLFRIEND,” on April 10th. You’ll be able to hear it on Apple Music and Spotify.
As a creative, I’m always drawing inspiration from different genres, and with my new single, I really leaned into the energy of EDM and the rhythm of rap. Those sounds were a huge influence on the track!
The new track from the 40-year-old artist combines different musical styles and features rapper Fenix Flexin from Los Angeles. Her label, Create Music Group – known for working with artists like Jason Derulo, Keri Hilson, and Deadmau5 – describes the song as a blend of rap and electronic dance music, making it catchy, memorable, and infused with a West Coast vibe.
The song is designed to grab your attention immediately with a catchy opening and a playful, energetic vibe, making it something you’ll want to listen to again and again and likely see added to many playlists, according to the label’s statement.
Amanda hinted at a comeback to music in February, sharing that she was collaborating with Fenix on a project she called “straight fire.”
Amanda Bynes, known for her role in She’s the Man, started rapping in 2021. Her first song, a 58-second track called “Diamonds,” featured her then-fiancé, Paul Michael.
She rapped about being covered in diamonds, mentioning them on her neck, wrist, and even her fist, saying she ‘whips’ with them.
The duo dropped a longer version of the song, as well as another single titled “Fairfax,” in 2022.

Amanda’s new project builds on her creative work since graduating from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles in 2019. In addition to her music, she also started a podcast in 2023 called Amanda Bynes & Paul Sieminski: The Podcast, co-hosted with Paul Sieminski.
In December 2024, she showcased her artwork at an art show and clothing pop-up. She also joined OnlyFans in April, but has stated she will not share explicit or suggestive content.
Before Amanda releases her new song “GIRLFRIEND,” let’s take a look back at some of her most memorable acting roles.

This fresh take on Snow White reimagines the story in a modern setting. Amanda, realizing sorority life isn’t a good fit, decides to live with seven quirky guys – a playful nod to the original seven dwarfs.

Amanda totally nailed the role of a holier-than-thou mean girl.

The actress won the Kids’ Choice Award for Favorite TV Actress three times thanks to her work on the comedy sketch series.

Amanda’s first movie was a huge success, earning an impressive $48 million at the box office. The numbers speak for themselves!

Does anyone else remember Amanda playing the role of Jennie Garth’s younger, bubbly sister on that show?

The actress looked completely different while portraying a teenage boy in this adaptation of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. Her performance was so good, we think even Shakespeare himself would have enjoyed it.

This incredibly talented performer showed off her vocal skills, proving she’s just as good at singing as she is at acting in this updated version of the beloved ’80s film.

It’s always good to see talented women in funny roles, and Amanda really shines here. Having a popular actor like Colin Firth play her father was an added bonus!
