Amanda Bynes is celebrating a fitness milestone.
The actress from Easy A recently shared that she’s lost almost 30 pounds with the help of Ozempic, and it’s motivating her to keep focusing on her health.
She shared on Instagram that she generally dislikes seeing paparazzi photos of herself, especially older ones where she weighed 180 pounds. She recently lost 28 pounds with the help of Ozempic, bringing her current weight down to 152 pounds. While she acknowledges she still feels large, she said the photo was motivating for her.
The candid photo showed the 39-year-old wearing ripped jeans, a T-shirt featuring Lady Gaga, and a small blue purse.
Amanda recently opened up about how challenges with her mental health contributed to weight gain, and she shared that she wants to start living a healthier lifestyle.
The former Nickelodeon star shared in an Instagram Story this March that they’d gained over 20 pounds due to depression. They’ve since improved and now use a technique called ‘opposite action’ – doing the opposite of what they feel – to stay motivated with exercise and healthy eating.
At the time, she noted, “I weigh 162lbs right now and want to get back to 110lbs.”
Following her admission, the She’s the Man star seemed to be making progress with her wellness goals.
“Down 6lbs,” Amanda wrote on her Nov. 5 Instagram Story with a shocked emoji. “154lbs now!”
She included a screenshot from Apple Fitness showing she’d exceeded her daily activity goal by burning over 150 extra calories and walking nearly 15,000 steps.

The actress from What a Girl Wants hasn’t only been posting about her weight loss on social media.
Amanda has mentioned before that she’s been attempting to reconnect with an ex by reaching out on different social media sites.
In an April 2024 Instagram Story, she jokingly wondered if she was the only person subtly trying to get their ex back with their posts, asking followers to let her know if she was alone in this.
Amanda didn’t say which former partner she was talking about, but she was last known to be with Paul Michael. He proposed to her in 2020, but they broke up in 2021. Before ending their relationship, they also stopped working together on their podcast, called Amanda Bynes & Paul Sieminski: The Podcast.
She shared on Instagram in December 2023 that the first episode of her podcast was a success. She was pleasantly surprised by the positive response, and her friends’ encouragement convinced her to continue making episodes.
She decided podcasting wasn’t for her, explaining, “I’d rather become a licensed manicurist and have a steady job.”
Amanda isn’t the only celebrity who’s talked about using Ozempic. Keep reading to learn about other stars who have shared their experiences with the weight loss drug.

Okay, so you guys are NOT going to believe this about Meghan Trainor and Daryl Sabara! I’ve been following them FOREVER, and they are just the cutest. After having their little Riley in 2021, they decided to do this crazy thing called 75 Hard – and Meghan said they totally killed it! But get this – then they started hearing from all their friends, and even their doctors, that they were using Mounjaro and Ozempic. I’m so fascinated by everything they do, it’s amazing!
Both Daryl and the singer decided to start with the smallest effective dose of Monjaro, and they’re combining it with exercise and healthy eating. The singer explained that they’re doing this together, saying, “We started this journey as a team.”

She enthusiastically shared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that she fully supports anyone considering Ozempic, saying, ‘I’m all for it! Do what makes you happy, I have no problem with that.’
She explained that she wants to break down the shame people feel when discussing weight loss. She believes this shame doesn’t come from within, but rather from those who prefer you stay larger. They’re upset, she said, because your weight loss challenges their own perceptions and takes away what little they feel they have to stand on – especially when you also possess a strong personality and are generally vibrant.

The model stated in December 2024 that she previously used Ozempic, but she discontinued it when she began competing on Dancing With the Stars the prior autumn.

However, when he competed on Dancing with the Stars, he realized he couldn’t continue doing both things at the same time.
As a lifestyle expert, I often talk about finding what truly motivates you, and that’s exactly what happened with me and my fitness routine. I started taking medication that unfortunately zapped my energy and drive to work out. It became clear I couldn’t do both, so I made a choice: I traded in my workouts for dancing, which I loved! I literally put the weights away and focused on something that brought me joy instead.

As a lot of you have asked, I wanted to address the rumors about my weight loss. Back in 2022, I lost around 50 pounds, and I’ve seen some speculation that I used Ozempic or something similar. She explained that a certain treatment didn’t reduce her appetite at all. Unlike some people who lost their appetite, she continued to eat appetizers, a full meal, and even dessert. She admitted that seeing it work for others while it didn’t help her left her feeling down and wondering what was wrong with her.

I’m not a medical expert, but I’ve been following the discussions around treatments like Ozempic. It seems clear that it can be helpful for some, but also carries potential risks, based on what I’ve read and heard.

The actress explained to TopMob News’ Francesca Amiker that it’s crucial to remember medications are designed for specific individuals and shouldn’t be used solely for cosmetic reasons.
Raven said, “Take care of business, but please make sure the medicine goes to those who truly need it.”

In September 2023, the host of Talk U.K. shared that she lost 42 pounds after using the medication Ozempic earlier that year.
I was so relieved to hear her say that it’s completely okay to use whatever helps you reach your weight loss goals. She told TopMob News, and it really resonated with me – she basically said it’s not something to be ashamed of at all, and it’s definitely not a ‘dirty little secret’ if you’ve needed a little help along the way. It’s so empowering to hear someone say it’s perfectly fine to do what you need to feel your best.
She added, “We don’t have to bulls–t.”

“Oh, my God,” Kate remarked after learning about the injectable. “This sounds terrible.”

In December 2023, the star of The Hills shared that she’d lost 22 pounds naturally, without using the weight-loss drug Ozempic. She told Page Six that she believes there are no easy fixes when it comes to weight loss, and she wouldn’t consider using a drug like Ozempic herself. She didn’t want to publicly call out any celebrities who were using it, but emphasized it wasn’t something she’d ever do.
Heidi said she’s looking for something sustainable and isn’t afraid of hard work.

During her June 8, 2023 appearance on Watch What Happens Live, the Trainwreck star openly criticized celebrities for being dishonest about using Ozempic for weight loss.

Senator Schumer, known for being upfront about her health choices, explained, “It’s important to be honest with people. I publicly shared that I had liposuction.”
She shared that she quickly became interested in Ozempic in 2022, but ultimately stopped taking the medication, which is typically used for Type 2 diabetes. She explained that it interfered with her ability to enjoy time with her son, Gene, making it unsustainable for her to continue.
I remember being too sick to play with my son,” Schumer said. “I was really thin at the time, and he was throwing a ball at me, but I just didn’t have the energy to react.

The company emphasizes its commitment to following all U.S. laws and regulations regarding how it promotes its products. Novo Nordisk also expressed confidence that doctors are carefully considering each patient’s unique health needs when choosing the appropriate treatment.

But while she tried the drug, Handler noted that she didn’t like how it made her feel.
She remembered returning from vacation and immediately using the medication. A few days later, while having lunch with a friend, the friend mentioned feeling nauseous and revealed she was taking Ozempic. She realized she was also feeling unwell, but initially attributed it to jet lag from her trip to Spain.
Handler eventually stopped taking the medication because she didn’t need it for health reasons, and she shared her leftover supply with friends.
