Production on the upcoming live-action Tomb Raider TV series at Amazon MGM Studios has been temporarily halted after lead actress Sophie Turner was injured.
According to Deadline, the studios released a statement saying the actress suffered a minor injury. Production on the show has been temporarily paused while she recovers.
We’ve temporarily paused production so she can rest and recover. We hope to be back up and running soon.
Production will be temporarily halted for about two weeks. Details about the injury haven’t been released, and it’s unclear if it happened on set.
Production has started on the Tomb Raider series. Phoebe Waller-Bridge is a writer, executive producer, and co-showrunner on the show, working alongside Chad Hodge.
Joining Turner in the cast are Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, Martin Bobb-Semple, and more.
Tomb Raider is making a strong comeback! In addition to a new TV series on Amazon, there are two Tomb Raider video games currently in development.
Two new Tomb Raider games are in development. The first, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, is a reimagining of the original game and will be released later this year. The second, Tomb Raider: Catalyst, is a completely new story planned for release in 2027.
As a big Lara Croft fan, I’m really hyped about all this! But honestly, more than anything, I just hope Camilla Luddington (who plays Lara and does the motion capture) feels better soon and gets back to doing all those amazing stunts – the backflips and taking down dinos are seriously impressive!
