Clay Aiken was far from invisible.
Oh my gosh, you guys, I was screaming when David Archuleta came back to American Idol for the season 24 finale on May 11th! It was amazing! Though Hannah Harper totally deserved the win – she’s the new Idol! But honestly, I was a little distracted because David looked so different! I almost didn’t recognize him, it was a total shock!
Clay’s style has changed a lot since his time on American Idol. He was wearing a playful outfit – a light blue shirt with brown polka dots and large, light brown pants. He also seemed to have lightened his hair, which looked gray-blonde under the stage lights.
Clay Aiken, age 47, was joined on stage by Braden Rumfelt, a contestant who had been eliminated earlier in the season but returned for the finale. Clay performed his new song, “Rewind,” his first release in 18 years, and shared how thrilled he was to be back on the show after finishing as runner-up to Ruben Studdard in 2003.
Oh my gosh, you guys, Clay Aiken actually POSTED on Instagram! It was tonight, during the American Idol finale! He shared this amazing throwback video from his very first audition – seriously, it was so cute! And the caption? It totally melted my heart. He said he thinks that little kid in the video would be so proud of how far he’s come. I’m not crying, you’re crying! It was just… everything.
Plus, it felt like kismet to return to American Idol at the same time he was releasing new music.
He described it as ‘really cool to have back,’ and said the experience felt ‘surreal’ in a recent interview with ABC 7, published on May 11.

Additionally, “Rewind” is his first new song since becoming a father to his 17-year-old son, Parker Foster Aiken, whom he co-parents with his close friend Jaymes Foster.
Clay explained that his father hadn’t been alive during the release of his recent music. He added that this was a completely new experience for his father as well.
Ever since Parker was born, Clay has prioritized creating a normal life for his son, even with Clay being a well-known figure.
In a 2024 interview with TopMob News, the singer, known as “Invisible,” explained that they successfully kept their child out of the public eye for 16 years. Their goal was to allow the child to have as normal an upbringing as possible.

Parker definitely inherited musical ability – from his dad, Clay, as well as his mother, Jaymes, who’s a music producer, and his uncle, David Foster. However, he’s not quite ready to pursue a career in music like his father.
“He can sing,” Clay explained, “though, he just doesn’t want to.”

Kelly Clarkson, mother to River and Remy, has achieved incredible success since her debut on the first season of American Idol in 2002. Based in New York, she’s won three Grammy Awards, topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart three times, served as a judge on NBC’s The Voice, and is now wrapping up her celebrated daytime talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show.

The runner-up from season two of the show shared two significant announcements in September 2008. He revealed the birth of his son, Parker, with his friend and music producer Jaymes Foster, was a major reason he decided to come out publicly. He explained on Good Morning America that he didn’t want to raise his son to be dishonest or hide parts of himself, and he wanted to create an environment where his son could be his true self, no matter what.
Since then, this well-known singer with red hair transitioned from music to politics, even running for Congress in 2016. After the election, he released a documentary about his life story. However, he hasn’t abandoned music completely, recently touring the country with season two winner Ruben Studdard in 2023 and 2024.

Ruben, the winner of season two of Idol, went on to achieve significant success, including a Grammy nomination and several popular albums. Later, in 2013, he appeared as a contestant on The Biggest Loser, quickly becoming a crowd favorite. Although eliminated twice during the competition, he gained valuable insights from the experience. Despite his professional achievements, Ruben found lasting happiness with his wife, Kristin, and they welcomed their second child in 2024. He and Clay Aiken remain close friends.

The season three champion recently expressed gratitude for her entire career path. In a December 2023 interview with TopMob News, she explained that success comes with challenges: “You experience setbacks, you fall, but you always get back up.” She added that overcoming difficult times, including losing everything twice and rebuilding her career, makes her current achievements even more rewarding.
Beyond her professional success, she’s also celebrated personal milestones, including welcoming daughter Keziah with husband Kendall Taylor in 2021 and receiving a Golden Globe nomination for The Color Purple remake. As a mother to both Keziah and her adult daughter Zion, she shared her desire to savor this moment and acknowledge the hard work that brought her here.

Although she didn’t win season three of the competition, this talented musician has achieved incredible success. She won an Oscar for her role in the 2006 film Dreamgirls, a Grammy for her performance in the 2017 musical adaptation of The Color Purple, and even served as a judge on The Voice. Most recently, this mother to son David is launching her own talk show.

Carrie Underwood quickly became a pop culture icon after her first appearance on Idol, and she ultimately won season four. She’s since become one of country music’s biggest stars.
For over a decade, she co-hosted the CMA Awards with Brad Paisley. Alongside her successful music career and hosting duties, Carrie is also a mother to two sons with her husband, retired hockey player Mike Fisher.
As a lifestyle expert, I was so excited to hear the news that Carrie Underwood is joining American Idol as a judge in 2024! She’s taking over for Katy Perry, and I think she’ll bring a fantastic perspective to the show. It’s a really great move for the series, and I can’t wait to see what she brings to the table.

The singer who finished second in season four of the show is now married and has four children – three sons and one daughter. Even after facing major health issues in 2006, this Southern rock artist has continued to release several successful albums since appearing on Idol.

Constantine, known for his powerful voice and memorable performance of “Bohemian Rhapsody” on season four of a popular show, transitioned seamlessly to Broadway, even earning a Tony nomination for his role in Rock of Ages. The father of Malena, born in 2010, continued his stage career with a starring role in the 2023 production of Rock & Roll Man.

Following his win on season five, the singer released a platinum-selling album and appeared in a Broadway production of Grease. In 2016, he transitioned to television, hosting State-Plate, a show centered around locally sourced food. Despite his TV work, he still loves music and continues to perform in concerts.

Before Justin Bieber captivated audiences, Katharine McPhee gained attention through what some called “McPheever,” which launched her career in both singing and acting. She’s best known for her roles in the musical drama Smash and the series Scorpion.
Married to David Foster since 2019, Katharine is now a mother to her son, Rennie, who shows a passion for music. In a 2023 interview with TopMob News, she shared her hope that Rennie will become proficient in various instruments, just like his father. “We’re not pushing him, just letting him explore,” she explained. “But I’d love for him to understand all instruments the way David does. He’s definitely showing promise!”

Following his appearance on American Idol, season five finalist Elliott Yamin, known for his song “Wait for You,” traveled to Angola. There, he teamed up with former Idol judge Kara DioGuardi to support Malaria No More. In 2010, Yamin gained attention for surviving the earthquake in Chile and sharing his experience on Twitter. He continues to make music and is a father to Camilla, with Karen Cruz.

Kellie Pickler gained recognition after placing sixth on the fifth season of American Idol. She then went on to star in the Hallmark movie Christmas in Graceland and received three Daytime Emmy nominations for her TV show, Pickler & Ben.
After the tragic loss of her husband, Kyle Jacobs, in February 2023, Kellie shared a valuable lesson he taught her. In difficult times, he advised simply “do nothing, just be still.” She told People magazine in 2023 that she’s choosing to follow his guidance.

The winner of season six made a big impact in 2007 as the youngest female to ever win the competition. She immediately launched a 35-city U.S. tour and, just a few years later in 2010, made her Broadway debut in In the Heights. Her career continued to flourish, and in May 2018, she welcomed her first son with Dana Isaiah. Since then, she’s returned to Idol and competed on season 31 of Dancing With the Stars.

David, best known for his hit song “Time of My Life” from season seven, has also made a significant impact outside of music. In 2010, he traveled to Ethiopia with the United Nations to support their work empowering women. He also participated in the Race for Hope in Washington D.C., raising funds for brain cancer research in memory of his brother, Adam, who passed away in 2009. Since marrying Racheal Stump in 2015, David continues to tour and released his latest single, “TABOS,” in 2022.

After placing second on season seven of the show, the singer spent two years serving a mission in Chile for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He resumed performing after returning in 2014.
He publicly came out as LGBTQ+ in June 2021. In an October 2023 Instagram post, he shared, “It’s been a beautiful journey learning to accept myself,” and expressed hope that living authentically would inspire others to do the same.

While Adam Lambert received a lot of attention as the runner-up, season eight’s winner has steadily built a successful career. His second album, released in November 2009, reached No. 11 on the Billboard 200 chart, and his song “I Need to Know” was used in an episode of The Vampire Diaries. He’s also been focused on his personal life, welcoming three children with his wife, Katy O’Connell, whom he’s been with since high school.

The runner-up from the eighth season of the show has achieved massive success. Since appearing on the competition, he’s released multiple albums, gone on headlining tours, and received numerous award nominations. He’s even followed in the footsteps of Freddie Mercury, becoming the frontman for Queen, and starred in a remake of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. He’s also returned to the show as a guest judge and kicked off the 2019 Oscars with performances of Queen’s classic songs, “We Will Rock You” and “We Are the Champions.”

Danny Gokey married Leyicet Peralta in 2012, following his appearance on season eight of American Idol. They now have four children together.
Danny Gokey, a three-time Grammy nominee, released the Christian album Jesus People in 2021. He’s also the founder of Danny Gokey Eyewear, a brand specializing in glasses and sunglasses.

Following his appearance as a top 10 finalist on the summer tour in 2010, the season nine winner began his career as a solo musician. He married model and actress Jonna Walsh in 2012, after meeting her while filming the music video for his first song after appearing on Idol. Today, he’s a successful singer-songwriter, and his music has even been featured on shows like The Walking Dead.

The singer, who finished as a runner-up on season nine of a singing competition, married musician Brian Walker and released her debut album, Farmer’s Daughter, in December 2010. Although her record label closed down, she began acting, appearing on the second season of the TV show Body of Proof.
In May 2013, she and her husband separated. Following their divorce, she described her second album, All That For This, as a reflection of a new phase in her life in an interview with The Boot.

The winner of season 10 was the first Idol champion since Ruben Studdard to have a debut album, Clear as Day, reach the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart. He was recognized as New Artist of the Year at the 2011 American Country Awards and performed the national anthem at Game 1 of the World Series that year. In June 2018, the singer of hits like “This Is It” and “Five More Minutes” married his longtime partner, Gabi Dugal. They had a son, Avery, in October 2022.

Though she placed second to Scotty on the show, this country singer quickly landed a record deal and released her first album, Wildflower, in October 2011. After appearing on Idol, she performed with Scotty at the 2011 CMT Music Awards, made her debut at the Grand Ole Opry, and even shared the stage with Martina McBride at the CMA Music Festival.
In 2017, she received her first CMA nomination for Best New Artist, following the success of her album, Road Less Traveled. She also branched out into acting, starring in a film with the same title.
More recently, the singer of “Thicc As Thieves” announced her engagement to Cam Arnold while performing at the Grand Ole Opry in November 2022, and the couple married in February 2024.

Although he only placed sixth in season ten, this contestant quickly became a fan favorite. He joined the Idols Live tour and even recorded a duet of “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” with fellow finalist Haley Reinhart, with whom he was rumored to be romantically involved. He eventually signed with the jazz label Concord Records. His first self-titled album came out in 2012, followed by I Put A Spell On You in 2018 and Jazz in 2019.

Jimmie Allen was eliminated on American Idol before the live shows in season 10, but he’s since achieved significant success with two chart-topping songs, “Best Shot” (2018) and “Make Me Want To,” and was named the Country Music Association’s New Artist of the Year in 2021.
In April 2023, Jimmie and his wife, Alexis Allen, announced they were expecting their third child while also ending their two-year marriage. Shortly after, Jimmie was accused of sexual assault and abuse by his former manager in a lawsuit. He admitted to infidelity and publicly apologized to Alexis for the affair, but denied the allegations of misconduct, claiming his relationship with his former manager was consensual.
After welcoming their son, Cohen Ace James, in September, the couple announced they were working to reconcile.

Following his victory on season 11, the musician quickly gained popularity with his song “Home,” which was also used as the theme song for NBC’s broadcast of the 2012 Summer Olympics.
In 2015, he married Hannah Blackwell in a private ceremony with loved ones. They later had a son named Patch in 2019.

Before releasing her album Whirlwind in 2019 – a year after winning season 16 of Idol – the artist told TopMob News that the album features a wide variety of musical styles. She explained that she enjoys experimenting with different sounds and didn’t want to limit herself to just one particular genre.

After finishing as a finalist on season 16 of the show, the singer has been busy creating new music and taking advantage of the opportunities that came with being on ABC. Caleb Lee told TopMob News that he’s always been passionate about music and becoming a performer, but the show taught him a lot about the entertainment industry. He even had the chance to join Luke Bryan on stage during Bryan’s final tour show and perform a song. Caleb released his latest album, Southern Galactic, in October 2023.

Following her third-place finish on season 16 of Idol, singer Gabby Barrett dedicated herself to completing her album. She expressed her excitement about performing at Stagecoach and described touring with Brad Paisley as a fantastic bonus. “It’s crazy to be touring with him,” she told TopMob News.
Gabby and her husband, Cade Foehner, who also appeared on Idol, welcomed their first child, daughter Baylah, almost two years ago. In October 2022, they expanded their family with the arrival of son Augustine, and they welcomed their third child in February 2024.
