Amy Bradley’s Brother Details Last Words 27 Years After She Vanished

Amy Bradley’s family is still searching for answers.

For approximately 30 years now, Amy has been missing. She vanished at the age of 23 while traveling on a Royal Caribbean Cruise ship with her family members: parents Iva Bradley and Ron Bradley, along with her brother Ronald “Brad” Bradley.

On March 24, 1998, Amy and Brad enjoyed a pool party on a cruise bound for Curaçao before attending the ship’s disco party. That evening turned out to be the last time Brad saw his sister.

Brad shared with WWBT’s 12 On Your Side that they spent numerous hours up there, engaging with people, making new acquaintances, and enjoying themselves. Upon their return, Amy started feeling queasy from the sea and opted to rest on the balcony’s chaise lounge, seeking fresh air and a breeze instead of being in an enclosed space at that moment. She said, “I prefer to stay out here on the chaise lounge with plenty of fresh air and wind. I don’t want to be inside a confined room just yet.

Brad continued, revealing the last words he ever said to Amy, “So, I told her I loved her.”

After waking up later, Brad noticed that the balcony door was slightly ajar, approximately 18 inches, and remarked that Amy was no longer present. It seemed as if she had disappeared right before their eyes, without a trace. Despite a thorough search by both family members and crew, there was no sign of the 23-year-old anywhere on the ship.

Over the years, Brad and his family have remained adamant that Amy is still alive somewhere.

Brad mentioned that a shirt was left on one of the room’s chairs, which indicates she returned to the room,” or simply, “The shirt on a chair suggests she came back into the room, said Brad.”

As for the second part: “There are many online critics who claim all sorts of hurtful things and essentially say she’s dead, fell, or jumped. However, I can assure you neither of those happened.”

“Many people online make harsh comments, implying she’s deceased, fell, or jumped, but I want to clarify that none of those scenarios are true.

Brad has repeatedly gone over the events of that night in his mind, still harboring suspicions about certain individuals they encountered on the ship. However, none of his doubts have ever resulted in any substantiated findings. Over the years, a multitude of tips have poured in claiming to have spotted Amy, with one tip in particular causing the family to entertain the possibility that she might have been kidnapped or secretly taken off the boat for trafficking purposes.

Brad remembered a sailor who had ventured into a brothel in Curaçao unauthorized, fearing repercussions, chose not to report it. Years later, he reached out to us and mentioned there was a girl inside who called out, ‘I’m Amy Bradley. I need help.’

Despite no discoveries so far, the family remains optimistic that Netflix’s upcoming documentary on July 16, titled “Amy Bradley Is Missing“, might provide additional details to aid their search.

Brad expressed, “We’re preparing ourselves for what seems likely to be an overwhelming influx of phone calls and emails, coming from various parts of the globe, aiming to assist us in our search for her.

Despite the passage of many years since they last saw her, Brad and his family remain optimistic, clinging to hope.

We strongly believe she’s still alive, an idea others might find implausible. But we won’t stop searching,” he emphasized. “If we don’t pursue possibilities and investigate leads, it would mean giving up on her, and that’s something we refuse to do.

Unfortunately, Amy’s disappearance isn’t the only tragedy to occur on a boat. Read on for more.

In June of 2025, a tragic boating accident on Lake Tahoe resulted in the loss of eight lives, marking the most fatal maritime incident in California since 2019. Among the victims were Doordash executive Josh Pickles, along with his parents Terry Pickles and Paula Bozinovic, and his uncle Peter Bayes. The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office Coroner’s Division confirmed this information to ABC 7 San Francisco at that time.

The family was commemorating Pickles’ mother’s 71st birthday, as confirmed by a spokesperson for the family to the media. Tragically, Timothy O’Leary, James Guck, Theresa Giullari, and Stephen Lindsay were among the victims in the crash. Remarkably, only two individuals managed to survive the accident.

In March 2025, a tourist submarine carrying 45 individuals sank in the Red Sea near Egypt’s coast. Regrettably, six Russian tourists lost their lives, as confirmed by Egyptian authorities to NBC News. Out of the 39 survivors, nine were reportedly injured, while the rest (30 people) were safely returned to their hotels according to local officials speaking with the Associated Press.

The submarine involved in the accident was operated by Sinbad Underwater Expeditions, a tour agency specializing in undersea tours 25 meters deep for $70 per visitor. In response to the crash, Sinbad Submarines expressed their deep sympathy to the families of the six casualties, sharing in their grief.

In March 2025, Kimberly Burch, the fiancée of Faster Pussycat band member Taime Downe, tragically fell from a Royal Caribbean cruise ship with an ’80s theme off the coast of Miami. This unfortunate incident was confirmed by her mother, Carnell Burch, to TMZ at the time.

During a subsequent interview, Downe claimed that the cause of his fiancée’s demise was linked to alcohol and prescribed medications.

In an interview with Trunk Nation with Eddie Trunk on SiriusXM in May 2025, Downe described his grieving process as “a series of ups and downs,” stating that he’s managing to stay afloat by taking things one day at a time.

In August 2024, a devastating storm led to the unfortunate sinking of a superyacht off the coast of Sicily. This tragic event resulted in the loss of six lives, among them were tech CEO Mike Lynch, his daughter Hannah, New York attorney Christopher Morvillo and his wife Neda, Morgan Stanley International chairman Jonathan Bloomer, and his wife Judy.

The incident was later found to have been triggered by a maritime tornado, often referred to as a “waterspout.” Salvo Cocina, leader of Sicily’s civil protection agency, stated to NBC News that the vessel unfortunately found itself in the wrong location at the wrong moment.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase it this way: Charlotte Golunski, one of the few survivors from that fateful event I refer to, shared her experience with La Repubblica, describing the storm as if it were the apocalypse itself. Her young daughter and partner also managed to survive.

In June 2023, the vanishing of OceanGate’s Titan submersible, a deep-sea exploration vessel intended for tourist trips to the wreckage of the Titanic, made headlines across the globe. After a four-day search, with constant monitoring of the sub’s 96-hour oxygen supply, it was confirmed that the underwater craft had self-collapsed, resulting in the tragic loss of the five passengers on board.

The sunken ship transported Stockton Rush, CEO of OceanGate, Hamish Harding, a British entrepreneur, Shahzada Dawood, a British-Pakistani businessman along with his son Suleman Dawood, and Paul-Henri Nargeolet, an expert in Titanic research.

Shortly following the disaster, OceanGate temporarily halted all operations. In the documentary titled “Implosion: Titanic Sub Disaster,” released about two years after the incident, the circumstances leading up to the accident, such as OceanGate’s disregard for safety procedures, were scrutinized. Furthermore, footage presumed to capture the moment of the explosion by the Coast Guard was made public.

In the video footage, Wendy Rush – who works as a director for an underwater tourism company – stationed at OceanGate offices, picked up on a loud bang while the submersible was descending to about 3,300 meters deep. Turning to her coworker Gary Foss, she inquired, “What was that noise?

As an ardent fan, I can’t help but share the heart-wrenching tale of Naya Rivera, the beloved star of “Glee.” On a tranquil boat trip with my little boy Josey on California’s Lake Piru, tragedy struck. The day was July 8, 2020, and our world would never be the same.

The investigation that followed was long and arduous, sparked by the chilling discovery of a solitary boy on the boat, adrift in the vast expanse of the lake. After five harrowing days, the Ventura County Sheriff’s department confirmed the unthinkable: Rivera’s body was found, floating lifeless on the lake’s surface.

Her son, whom she shared with her former partner Ryan Dorsey, bravely faced the investigation. He recalled that day vividly, sharing a haunting memory of them both swimming in the lake. In the midst of the chaos, he remembered being helped back into the boat by his mom.

At a press conference held in 2020, Ventura County Sheriff Bill Ayub confirmed the currents on the lake were treacherous, particularly in the afternoon. He posited that it was around this time when Rivera disappeared. The boat, unanchored, may have started drifting. With the strength of a mother, she managed to get her son back onto the boat, but alas, not enough to save herself.

This tale serves as a poignant reminder of the power and resilience of the human spirit, even in the face of such devastating loss. Rivera’s legacy continues to live on through her work, and our hearts go out to her family and loved ones during this difficult time.
