Five years after they began dating, and just after getting engaged, actress Alex O’Loughlin’s representative, Jen Abel, confirmed to TMZ on April 22nd that the couple had cancelled their wedding plans.

News of the couple’s split comes just a week after Sandra was seen in New York City without her engagement ring. While rumors began circulating, Sandra initially dismissed them, explaining to TMZ that her outfit simply didn’t need any jewelry.

Sandra’s relationship with Ben, 47, began quickly in 2021, following her 2019 split from Andrew Cuomo. However, they largely kept their relationship private, especially in recent years. The last time they were seen together in public was in 2024 at an Oscars viewing party benefiting Elton John’s AIDS Foundation.

The couple seemed to be really enjoying themselves at the party. In one photo, Sandra is playfully drinking champagne while Ben, beaming, takes a picture of her with his phone.

Their romantic connection also moved to social media. Sandra, 59, last publicly featured Ben in a Valentine’s Day post in 2025, sharing a video of cute selfies they’d taken together.

Sandra shared a sweet Instagram post thanking her boyfriend, Ben, for almost four years of love. She wrote about all the fun, romance, and special moments they’ve shared.

Before dating Ben, Sandra had a 15-year relationship with the former governor of New York. Because of this long relationship, people jokingly called her the “almost” First Lady of New York. Andrew stepped down from his position in 2021 after accusations of sexual harassment were made against him.

Although the chef and politician didn’t become a couple, Sandra insisted she was just as committed to her boyfriend’s goals as he was.

Shortly after Andrew was elected in 2011, she told Vogue that in 2010 she had deliberately prepared for his campaign by streamlining her work and restructuring her company. This allowed her to dedicate more time to supporting him.
