Andy Cohen Reacts to Summer House’s Amanda Batula, Kyle Cooke Breakup

Following the news that Summer House stars Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke have split, a TV personality reacted by jokingly referencing a well-known phrase Kyle used during an argument with Amanda.

Andy acknowledged it wasn’t an easy choice, as he said on the January 20th episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. He then expressed support for their decision, adding that, as someone once put it, marriage should be enjoyable.

The 57-year-old concluded his message, “We wish you both the very, very best.”

The couple, who fell in love on a reality show and were married for four years, have announced their decision to get a divorce.

On January 19th, the couple announced on Instagram that they’ve decided to separate. In a joint statement, they said the decision was mutual and made with respect for each other. They asked for privacy and support as they both focus on moving forward and healing.

The news arrived a month after the trailer for season 10 of Summer House—set to premiere February 3rd on Bravo—showed serious issues in Amanda and Kyle’s marriage. A major source of conflict was Kyle’s recent career change to become a DJ.

Amanda, 34, explained that she’d hoped her partner would cut back on his social life. Ironically, he ended up choosing a job that actually involved going out and partying even more.

The founder of Loverboy was hurt that his wife didn’t seem to care about his big accomplishment. He said, “I had the most important performance of my career, but Amanda didn’t even seem interested. I’m starting to wonder what’s important to her.”

Amanda has been concerned by Kyle’s partying, and she recently shared with Ciara Miller and Lindsay Hubbard that he once fell asleep at a fan’s apartment and didn’t return home until 6:30 a.m.

During their private conversation, Kyle brought up some serious issues he saw in the relationship.

“Honestly, I think our biggest problem is that we just don’t connect,” the 43-year-old said to Amanda. “There’s no spark, no real intimacy—what’s going on with that?”
