Andy Sambergis never on a lonely island with Joanna Newsom by his side.
The former Saturday Night Live star, who got married to the musician in 2013, shared that he feels incredibly fortunate to be wedded to his longtime friend, dating back roughly 17 or 18 years.
Andy expressed that the experience was truly enjoyable on the July 8th episode of Amy Poehler’s “Good Hang” podcast. He added that while having children does alter things due to increased responsibilities and disrupted sleep patterns, among other changes, there are still moments when it feels like they’re up to something secretive whenever they have some private time together.
Indeed, the member from The Lonely Island, who has two children with Joanna, compared the playful nature of their relationship to spending a fun night together like “a sleepover.
I’m having a great time, and I can’t imagine spending it with anyone else. It’s simply fantastic! I consider myself incredibly fortunate to be able to live my life alongside her.” (46-year-old stated)
Additionally, Andy and the artist known for “Have One on Me” aren’t just best friends; they appreciate each other’s creative work as well.
Initially, some folks found it surprising when they learned she appreciated his comedic work on Brooklyn Nine-Nine. However, he later discovered that this wasn’t just a fleeting interest – she genuinely enjoyed and continues to enjoy his style of comedy. In fact, she and her siblings are quite the jokers themselves, sharing a love for humor, which made him feel incredibly fortunate.
Despite maintaining a rather private personal and family life, there have been occasional glimpses into the romantic aspect of Andy and Joanna’s relationship.
In a 2015 interview with the late Larry King, she shared that he has a deep affection for the harp. She also mentioned that he might be her most enthusiastic supporter among all fans of her music.
And the feeling is mutual for the harpist.
She mentioned that he’s her top choice among everyone, and the one she’d love to spend time with whenever possible.
