Angela Bassett Shares Her Fitness Secret at Age 67

Angela Bassett‘s current mission? Keeping in shape.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’d like to share an inspiring story from my perspective. Following her 67th birthday, the remarkable woman behind the iconic 9-1-1 series has graciously opened up about her strategies for maintaining fitness amidst her hectic schedule. It’s a testament to the fact that age is indeed just a number!

In my perspective, prioritizing regular movement and maintaining a healthy lifestyle is crucial for our future selves. By doing so, I believe it significantly influences not just our physical well-being as we grow older, but also shapes the individuals we become as we mature into adulthood.

Regardless of her persistent dedication, she openly acknowledged that it remains an ongoing project for her as well.

The actress from the movie “Mission: Impossible – Fallout,” who is mom to 19-year-old twins Bronwyn, Slater, and wife to Courtney B. Vance, acknowledges that growing older brings with it increased wisdom and a change in one’s strength.

As a lifestyle advocate, I must admit that with the passing years, I’ve become more mindful of my physical limitations. My knees, ankles, and lower back-they’re not as agile as they used to be when I was younger. However, I’ve learned to adapt, finding activities suitable for my current stage in life. Although I may not be able to perform at the same level as before, I embrace this new chapter with grace, knowing that age brings wisdom and a unique charm.

Even though she might not appear that way, Angela clarified that she truly puts in maximum effort at the gym, as long as one pushes themselves hard enough.

For the actress, her personal life and career mean she needs to prioritize her health.

She mentioned, “I am a wife, a mother, and a career-focused individual.” She went on to say, “I exert effort daily or almost daily, and I manage to do so thanks to maintaining my overall wellness.

As of late, I’ve learned that this encompasses boxing. I’m thrilled to share that I’m fully on board and eagerly anticipating giving it a go.

Angela is open to exploring various methods for physical movement, as she stated to TopMob News in May 2021, saying, “At home, I have resources: I have a bicycle. I have functional feet and legs.

She’s also more conscious of her meals. She focuses on two things: “Move more and eat better.”

Although she tries to eat healthy, she likes to indulge sometimes, too.

She clarified that while we understand certain choices are more beneficial than others, it’s equally important to indulge in things in a balanced manner.

As a lifestyle expert, I enthusiastically advocate incorporating incline walking into your fitness routine due to its significant benefits on muscle development and circulation. In my personal regimen, I often supplement this with walking backward – an extraordinary exercise that focuses on strengthening the glutes and legs while engaging multiple muscle groups at once.

2023 was a game-changer for me, and I can’t hide my enthusiasm when I talk about it! I opened up to TopMob News about the significant impact fitness had on my life last year: “Ultimately, when it comes down to it, no one reaps the benefits of a healthier me more than me.” I firmly believe that if you truly commit to this lifestyle, you’ll spend more years living with it as your companion than without it. In my mind, that’s how I choose to look at it.

As an ardent devotee, I make it a point to stay committed, whether I’m doing workouts at home, stretching, or taking walks outdoors-whatever the choice may be.

The Grammy-winning artist shared her insights on how relocating to New York City ignited her health and wellness adventure. She told People in an interview published January 3 that walking around the city provides quite a strenuous workout, and she’s currently fond of infrared saunas. Additionally, she recently acquired a cold plunge after being persuaded by others.

Julianne mentioned to TopMob News that she makes sure to schedule exercises when her calendar is full.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I firmly believe that incorporating regular physical activity into our daily routines is essential for both mental and physical well-being. For me, this includes taking walks around the picturesque hills with my beloved canine companion – it’s not just about keeping her active, but also enjoying some quality time together.

That being said, movement doesn’t always have to be a long, arduous journey. Even brief sessions of exercise, such as a 10-minute brisk walk or quick workout, can greatly benefit our overall health and help maintain a positive outlook on life. So, make it a point to move your body every day – remember, every step counts!

In her spare moments, she mentioned that she enjoys the variety of working out – be it Kinrgy classes, Pilates, or yoga. What she finds particularly appealing is the combination of these different workout styles since she values versatility.

Every day, I make sure to get moving, whether it’s for a short while or longer. On some days, I might find myself in a room with the music turned up loud, dancing away. It’s an amazing way to release stress and feel invigorated.

The record producer opened up about his love for golfing and how it’s helped him slim down.

He mentioned in an interview with Us Weekly on September 20 that he engages in this activity daily. This involves either riding a golf cart or walking around to manage his emails, phone calls, and other business matters. He finds it incredibly enjoyable, appreciating the natural surroundings and sunlight. It has a rejuvenating effect on him.

Currently, I really enjoy getting exercise through virtual reality (VR) games. We just bought a VR headset when everything was closing down, and it’s been fantastic during the quarantine. There are numerous games that make you sweat, and I absolutely love it! After I play, I honestly feel quite sore.

Normally, I go to the gym, but at present, I’m attending online sessions led by my Pilates coach, Britni Lariviere. In addition, I’m attempting to jump rope every day, aiming for 2,000 jumps each time.

Currently, we’re very much into family cycling adventures, and I make it a point to set aside half an hour each day for Pilates sessions led by Andrea Rodgers, as well as foam rolling exercises guided by Lauren Roxburgh.

Over the past few months, confined at home, my favorite escape has been running with some energizing tunes playing in my ears. It leaves me feeling fantastic and invigorated!

“My favorite way to break a sweat is mix of sex, PRx Performance, hiking, biking.”

Through my Brooke Burke Body fitness app, I engage with my audience and inspire them to stay fit during quarantine! Since the lockdown began, I’ve been live streaming both on the app and Instagram to bring an element of fun and creativity to exercise. One of my favorite activities is leading total body cardio parties where we turn up the music, find our groove, and really feel the burn in our booty. Cardio workouts increase your heart rate, so if you’re not breaking a sweat, it means you need to push yourself harder!

I’ve been quite busy with my fitness routine, which includes Sculpt, Cardio Boxing, and Yoga Classes from the obé Fitness App, as well as virtual Pilates classes by Amanda. When time is limited, I opt for Lauren Gores’ quick workout sessions on her Instagram.

During the lockdown, I have taken up personal yoga practice, which tends to stretch over a span of about two hours as I explore various aspects of it.

My coach, Amoila Cesar, brings out the best in me by tapping into my resilient, competitive spirit. His intense approach excites me. During the lockdown, I found satisfaction through his 6 Weeks of THE WORK on Beachbody on Demand. I’m also fond of a challenging barre class and require daily yoga practice for balance.

As an enthusiastic dance lover, I’ve found myself grooving frequently within the comfort of my apartment, transforming it into a makeshift dance floor. With a simple press of the play button, I let the rhythm take over and move as freely as possible. At times, I follow structured routines, while other times I allow my moves to flow organically in an interpretive dance. Occasionally, I even incorporate some twerking into my repertoire. Moreover, when I crave a change of scenery, I hit the trails for invigorating hikes!

For quite some time, I’ve relied on P.Volve as my preferred workout regimen. I’ve attended their classes in person for years now, but lately, I stream them from home instead. I aim to exercise at least three to four times a week, even if it’s just for half an hour. The focus is on building and extending my muscles, which I absolutely love!
