At Tokyo Game Show 2025, Pawprint Studio shared more information about their new creature-collecting game, *Aniimo*, and released a trailer (see below). The presentation highlighted the game’s enchanting world, Idyll, and the unique creatures called Aniimo that live there.
Okay, so the new trailer didn’t show a ton of actual gameplay, but it *did* give me a really good look at the creatures – the Aniimo – we’ll be seeing in the game. The developers shared some of their names, and there’s a cool variety! I spotted Stellarys, Helgon, and Hellmut, plus some of the Ignitis family that are all about electricity. But it’s not all tough guys; they also showed off some friendlier Aniimo like Skippy, Pranky, and Glacy. It looks like there’s a lot of different types to collect!
The studio also shared some of the design choices behind the Aniimo. For instance, Stellarys is a possible evolution of Celestis, but it can only happen when it’s raining. Stellarys has uniquely adapted to the rain, developing a special membrane to store water for both its own needs and for use in attacks. Interestingly, Stellarys appears to prefer a solitary lifestyle.
Helgon and Helmuts often challenge each other, driving them to develop in different ways to overcome their flaws. Helmuts usually become Rookguards, able to transform into a large metal sphere for defense against Helgon. The bravest Helmuts can even evolve into Pawneys, specifically to fight Infregon, the leader of the Helgon family.
Pawprint Studio announced another beta test for *Aniimo*, and players can sign up now on their website. Those selected for the beta will be among the first to play with the new creatures revealed in the game’s trailer.
Aniimo was revealed in June with a trailer showcasing its world and gameplay. This creature-collecting game centers around exploring Idyll, making friends with magical creatures, and battling using their special abilities.
In this open-world RPG, you play as a Pathfinder exploring a vast and interactive world. You’ll discover unique creatures called Aniimo simply existing and thriving in their natural habitats, offering a rich and immersive experience.
Aniimo’s multiplayer mode will offer both cooperative and competitive experiences. Players will be able to team up to explore dungeons and solve puzzles in the cooperative mode. The competitive mode will likely involve two players battling each other using their teams of Aniimo, though specific details haven’t been fully revealed yet.
Aniimo is slated for release in 2026, and is being developed for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
