Another Eden Begins: Everything We Know

After releasing an exciting 8-minute trailer, Wright Flyer Studios announced that their new time-travel RPG, Another Eden Begins, will be available on September 17, 2026. Developed by the company’s Studio Prisma, the game is a full, paid experience – a departure from its original free-to-play mobile version – and will launch on Nintendo Switch, the next Nintendo Switch console, and PC through Steam.

Here’s a comprehensive overview of the new game, including its story, how it plays, and the team who created it.

The Creative Masterminds Behind the Magic

Another Eden Begins is generating a lot of buzz among fans of traditional Japanese role-playing games. That’s because the game is being created by some of the most well-known and respected developers in the genre.

  • Masato Kato, a celebrated writer known for his work on classic games such as Chrono Trigger and Xenogears, is writing the story and choices for this game.

  • Yasunori Mitsuda, the celebrated composer known for his work on Chrono Trigger alongside Kato, composed the game’s main theme. The full soundtrack blends traditional folk music with grand orchestral pieces, all produced by Procyon Studios.

  • Shinnosuke Hirasawa, head of Studio Prisma, explains that Another Eden Begins was created as a completely new RPG, not just a port of the mobile game Another Eden: The Cat Beyond Time and Space. The team wanted to build a large, independent experience for players.

Storyline: A Tear in Spacetime

The game tells a brand new, detailed story, and all the main characters speak English.

The story centers around Aldo and his sister, Feinne, who enjoy a peaceful life in their village until Feinne is kidnapped by the fearsome Beast King. Determined to rescue her, Aldo chases the Beast King into the Moonlight Forest. After a difficult fight, a strange event sends Aldo 800 years into the future. Now lost in a new time, Aldo must travel through different eras and connect with 18 distinct characters, learning their stories through engaging side quests.

Strategic Turn-Based Combat and Multiple Endings

I loved the original Another Eden, but wow, Another Eden Begins really changes things up! They’ve moved beyond the side-scrolling style, and the combat and exploring are so much more dynamic and exciting now.

  • Command Battles feature a deep, turn-based combat system where strategy is key. Success depends on building a well-rounded team, considering each character’s strengths and how they work together to perform powerful combo attacks called “Chain Skills.”

  • Players can now use a returning feature called “Another Force” to briefly stop time and deliver a powerful series of attacks, helping them overcome tough challenges in battle.

  • This game features a New Game+ mode and multiple endings thanks to the deep storytelling by Masato Kato. Once you finish the game, you can start a new playthrough with all your character’s progress intact. However, your choices this time around will affect the story and unlock more than 10 different endings.

Early Bird Bonuses and Launch Details

If you’re excited to start playing right away, Wright Flyer Studios has announced some special rewards for early players. Anyone who buys the game before September 2027 will get digital codes to unlock:

  • The “Encounter Ramiu” ticket lets you choose a specific character, helping you build a strong team at the beginning of the game.

  • Exclusive alternative outfits for the protagonists, Aldo and Feinne.

  • A “5-Star Guaranteed 10 Allies Bundle” ticket for extra party members.

As a Nintendo Switch fan, I was so excited to hear that WFS is planning an “Upgrade Pass”! It means if and when Nintendo releases a new Switch – like a Switch 2 – people who already have games on the regular Switch will be able to easily transfer them over. That’s a huge relief and a great way to make sure we don’t lose our progress when we upgrade!

The game Another Eden Begins will be available worldwide on September 17, 2026, for Nintendo Switch, the new Nintendo Switch 2, and on Steam.
