Game publisher NIS America has set a definite launch date for the upcoming role-playing game, Trails beyond the Horizon, which is part of the extended Trails series by Falcom.
Previously scheduled for release this fall, the game Horizon has been pushed back to early 2026, announced only last month. Now, it’s set to be released on the 15th of January, providing an exciting start to the new year.
Earlier, there had been much anticipation about the planned release of the game in 2025, as this would allow western Trails fans to be on par with the rest of the series.

As a gamer, I can’t help but feel that the release date for Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, a stunning 3D remake of my favorite adventure, slated for September 19th, seems more fitting than the fall release date for Horizon. Despite both titles being published by different companies, it appears to me that an autumn release for Horizon might be unnecessary given the close proximity to Trails in the Sky’s launch.
And that’s without even mentioning Trails through Daybreak 2, which released earlier this year!
Essentially, fans will need about four months to finish the first chapter, then they can rejoin Van and his crew for the ongoing storyline in the Trails series. This means a good chunk of Trails action is coming up, but it’s all within a fairly brief span of time.
As a fellow gaming enthusiast, I’m just checking – is everything cool that Trails Beyond the Horizon drops in January? And please, let’s keep our hands off poor old Van’s truck when commenting below, alright? 😄
