Apple TV is known for its high-quality shows, particularly in science fiction. Their newest release continues that trend, delivering another excellent series.
Created by Vince Gilligan, the mind behind Breaking Bad, the show quickly became a huge success, becoming Apple TV+’s most-watched program. While Apple TV+ has already ordered a second season, Gilligan recently shared some less-than-ideal news about its progress in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
The show was initially scheduled to end on December 26th, but Apple TV+ delayed the finale without explaining why. This decision may have been made to ensure Pluribus gets the most attention during the Christmas holiday and to avoid competing with the release of Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 2. The show previously used a similar strategy, releasing episodes two days before Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 1 came out.
As a huge sci-fi fan, I’ve been following this series, and it’s getting incredible reviews – critics are loving it, giving it a whopping 98
When asked about a second season, Gilligan said they’re still developing it and don’t want to release anything until it’s ready. He explained that the process takes time, and he wishes they could work more quickly.
Gordon Smith, an executive producer on the show, explained that the series feels like it’s heading towards an endless future. He compared it to the infinity symbol on a timeline, suggesting they’re somewhere on that continuing path.
The team was thrilled with the positive reaction to the show. The creator expressed his surprise and gratitude, saying he was incredibly happy people were enjoying it so much.
As a huge fan, it’s just really awesome to see so many people enjoying this story with us – it’s incredibly rewarding, you know?
Gilligan explained that while they appreciate the fans’ support, the team focuses on creating the show they themselves would enjoy. They try not to get caught up in outside reactions, whether good or bad, and instead prioritize their own vision as the first audience and biggest fans.
