The streaming service, known for popular science fiction series like Severance, Foundation, For All Mankind, Silo, and Invasion, has another potential success with its newest show. Audiences seem particularly drawn to the show’s main character, Carol Sturka.
Apple TV+’s show Pluribus is now the platform’s most popular series ever, surpassing both Severance and Ted Lasso. According to Eddy Cue, Apple’s head of Services, the show created by Vince Gilligan is Apple TV+’s “biggest series to date.”
Starring Rhea Seehorn as Carol, the series Pluribus boosted Apple TV+ engagement by 36% in December. The show, which also features Karolina Wydra and Carlos-Manuel Vesga, quickly became a hit after its November 7, 2025 premiere, climbing to the top of streaming charts. Seehorn recently received a Golden Globe award for her performance in the lead role.
The show has a very high rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with 98% positive reviews. Rhea Seehorn plays a character who is one of the few people on Earth not affected by a collective consciousness. Apple TV has already ordered another season.
I was thrilled to see Seehorn finally win a Golden Globe! After the ceremony, she shared some exciting news about what’s next for Pluribus. Apparently, the writers are already back at work on Season 2, and Gilligan himself is really eager to dive back in. As a huge fan, that’s music to my ears!
Seehorn explained that he’s eager to return, and isn’t deliberately delaying things. He simply wants to create the best possible experience for fans and those invested in the story, so they’ll be back as quickly as they can manage.
Pluribus Creator on Season 2: “We’re Working on It”
Vince Gilligan confirmed they are developing a second season of Pluribus, but cautioned that the process is slow. He expressed a desire to speed things up, saying, ‘It takes us a while. I would love to go faster if I could,’ following the conclusion of Season 1.
He explained that while they appreciate the fans’ support, they focus on creating the show they themselves would enjoy. They prefer to concentrate on the creative process, rather than getting caught up in outside reactions – whether good or bad. Essentially, they see themselves as the first audience and aim to please themselves first.
This awards season, Pluribus has already earned three wins, including a Golden Globe for Seehorn. She also received the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series, and Pluribus was named TV Program of the Year by the AFI. The show was also a nominee for Best Drama Series at both the Golden Globes and Critics’ Choice Awards.
According to FlixPatrol, as of January 14th, Pluribus is the most popular show on Apple TV in the United States. It’s currently ranking higher than Hijack, Tehran, Palm Royale, and Ted Lasso, which are in positions two through five.
Pluribus is streaming on Apple TV.
