Okay, gamers, mark your calendars! April 14th is shaping up to be massive for Xbox Game Pass. Seriously, it might be the biggest day of 2026 for the service so far. They’re dropping two games on day one – one is a port of what everyone was calling the best game of 2025, and the other is a brand-new, long-awaited exclusive that Xbox fans have been hyped about for years. I’m already clearing my schedule!
Two highly anticipated games are coming to Xbox Game Pass on day one. First, Hades II, which earned the highest Metacritic score of any game in 2025, is now available on Xbox Series X and PS5 after previously launching on Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and PC. It will be included with Xbox Game Pass Premium and Ultimate subscriptions and is considered the best addition to the service so far this year. The other new game is Replaced, an Xbox exclusive that was originally announced in 2021 with a planned 2022 release. After several delays totaling four years, it’s finally here, and while it may not reach the same level of quality as Hades II, it looks very good and fans have been eagerly awaiting its arrival.
Hades II
Hades II is a fast-paced action game where each run is different, and it continues the story of the popular 2020 game, Hades. It’s the fifth game created by Supergiant Games, an award-winning independent studio based in San Francisco, and is considered one of the best in the indie game world.
When it launched, Hades II received very high scores on Metacritic, ranging from 94 to 98, solidifying its place as one of the greatest roguelike games ever made. Like other games in the genre, it’s packed with content. Players can expect around 30 hours to finish the main game, but dedicated completionists will likely spend over 100 hours. Those aiming for a balance – experiencing the story and most side content – should plan for approximately 50 hours of gameplay in the 2025 release.
Replaced
Replaced is an action platformer with a unique 2.5D visual style, created by the Belarusian studio Sad Cat Games. It’s launching soon, and after being announced in 2021, it’s become one of the most eagerly awaited indie games.
As a Game Pass subscriber, I’m wondering how long we’ll have access to these games, but unfortunately, there’s no word on that yet. What is clear is that they won’t be staying forever, since they aren’t games owned by Xbox themselves. It’s a bummer, but that’s how Game Pass works sometimes!
