The developers of Embark have started revealing details about the upcoming update and are also clarifying what players can anticipate from the game’s original plan.

The new update is almost here! Here’s a summary of what it includes and when you can expect it to be released.

Arc Raiders Cold Snap Release Date

The Cold Snap update for Arc Raiders is coming out on December 16th, 2026. This launch will also mark the start of the new Trials season and a reset for the ranked season. You’ll be able to begin Expeditions the very next day.

This new update arrives just five weeks after the previous one, which introduced the Stella Montis map, the Breaking New Ground event, and two new Arc types, along with various other improvements and quests. It also follows closely on the heels of the exploit and bug fixes released on December 11th.

Although this update doesn’t include a new map, it will still offer a comparable amount of new content.

Arc Raiders Cold Snap: What To Expect

We don’t have many details about the upcoming Cold Snap update yet. However, a recent teaser image from Embark Studios offers a few hints about what’s coming.

The image shows a map covered in snow, hinting that snowfall will be a new weather effect in the game. It also features an icepick, which suggests new styles or skins might be released for the Raider Tool.

This weather event was confirmed in the previous roadmap for the game, which you can see below.

In addition to the new weather event, the game will also feature the Flickering Flames event. This likely means players will need to find ways to stay warm on the new snowy maps, perhaps with a heat mechanic. The update will also include new quests, a new Raider Deck, and likely other items as well.
