ARC Raiders is quickly becoming a hit game. Recent data from SteamDB shows it’s already had over 354,000 players online at the same time in the last day.
With this many players online at the same time, ARC Raiders is performing at a high level, similar to popular games like GTA 5, Borderlands 4, Monster Hunter: World, and Starfield.
Keep in mind this number only represents sales on Steam, so the total across all platforms is likely much larger.
The game has become incredibly popular, but this has caused problems with its servers. Players are frequently experiencing difficulties finding matches and facing long waits in queues.
I think we killed the game with the amount of players in the game

Players are currently waiting an average of 5 to 10 minutes to get into a game.
Honestly, the matchmaking was a real pain point. It kept messing up and throwing people into weird lobbies, which, naturally, drove a lot of us crazy.
Many users shared screenshots of the error messages they were seeing on Reddit. Additionally, a large number of Twitch streamers also experienced being stuck in long wait times.
Some players have reported being stuck in matchmaking for over five minutes without the option to cancel the search.
So, that’s why, if you look at the Steam charts, you see a pretty big drop-off after the game got its most players – you can see it right in the image below. It just means a lot of people played it at first, but then moved on, which is pretty normal.

Players are Getting Stuck in Matchmaking Queues and Errors
Embark Studios is aware of the problems and is working on a fix, which they expect to release shortly.
On the official ARC Raiders Discord, Community Lead Ossen announced:
We’ve added a temporary login queue to help with problems people are having when trying to form parties and use voice channels. This might mean it takes a little longer to find a match. If you’re still experiencing issues, please let us know so we can continue looking into it.
To manage the volume of complaints, they added a 15-minute delay between posts in the main chat of the official Discord server.
ARC Raiders servers are online again, but many players are still experiencing long wait times to get into the game.

Despite the ongoing problems, many players have been able to join matches. However, Embark Studios is temporarily restricting access to allow them time to fix the issue.
Players have had a variety of reactions to this problem. Some made light of it, playfully calling the game a “waiting room simulator,” while others expressed their frustration with the current state of things.
It’s pretty understandable considering the game is becoming bigger and bigger as the days go by.
Currently, Embark Studios hasn’t announced when they expect to fix the problems.
Right now, all we can do is keep an eye on their official Discord for updates – the team is really working hard to fix everything, and I’m confident they’ll get there!
