ARC Raiders: Throw Snowballs at Bastions Guide Weekly Trial

The weekly challenge in ARC Raiders has changed! Now, instead of Rocketeers, you need to hit Bastions with snowballs to complete the trial.

Snowballs are a little easier to throw and hit Bastions with. They’re bigger targets, move slower, and don’t zip around as much. Still, Bastions are powerful enemies, so you need to be cautious when attacking.

In this guide, we’ll tell you an easy method to complete this weekly trial safely.

The Trial Basics

This week’s challenge is very similar to the previous Rocketeers trial. We also suggest reading our guide on the Rocketeers trial – it will help you collect lots of Snowballs to get ready!

Okay, so one good thing about fighting Bastions is they can’t fly around like those Rocketeers! That makes them way easier to handle. The main strategy is still the same though: you’ve gotta locate a Bastion and take it down so you can really unload your Snowballs on it.

During this test, Spaceport is the best map to use, especially when the Cold Snap event is active. Head to the Rocket Assembly building, which is located in the northeastern area of the map.

You don’t actually need the Cold Snap event to use Snowballs. But, as you can see in the video, when the event is happening, there are three piles of snow inside the building. This lets you collect extra Snowballs, which is really helpful!

Okay, so when it comes to what weapons to use, I’ve learned you really want something specifically for taking out Bastion’s legs. But here’s the trick – you don’t need a super powerful weapon, just enough to disable those legs! It’s all about control, not total destruction.

It’s also a good idea to bring a strong weapon for player-versus-player combat, since you might encounter others doing the same thing or investigating the activity. A Venator and Stitcher combination would be particularly effective.

Putting that aside, we suggest getting the Looting Mk. 3 (Cautious) Augment. It increases your inventory size. Also, don’t carry a lot of ammo – try filling your inventory with Snowballs instead.

With those basics down, it’s now time to go over the method itself!

The Method

To finish the trial, head southwest from the Rocket Assembly building. You should be able to find a Bastion nearby. Carefully get its attention by shooting at it a few times.

When Bastion starts targeting you, begin moving backward towards the Rocket Assembly building, leading Bastion inside with you. Once inside, use the tanks as cover to avoid Bastion’s fire.

This lets you quickly attack Bastion while staying fairly protected. Now, simply shoot its legs to take it out of action.

Once you’ve disabled the Bastion’s legs, all you have to do is start throwing Snowballs at it! Just use up all your Snowballs – empty your inventory onto it to finish the job.

Because the security system is off and there are tanks inside, you’ll be relatively safe completing this task. If the Cold Snap event is happening, you can also collect extra Snowballs from the snow piles nearby.
