Here is an overview of the game, via Hamster Corporation:

Real-time hypersonic air battles on the System Super 22 hardware!!

Air Combat 22 is a flight shooter released by Namco (Bandai Namco Entertainment) in 1995.

As a gamer, I’ve got my hands on a game that takes 3D graphics to a whole new level with its dazzling visuals and snazzy animations, all thanks to the advanced “System Super 22” arcade board. This is an upgrade from the iconic “System 22” architecture that powered many legendary 3D games in the past.

Engage in exhilarating battles against numerous enemy aircraft, experience pulse-pounding missions that demand top-notch skills, and overcome various aerial combat situations. Ascend to become a sky-bound hero!

The Arcade Archives (ACA) collection meticulously re-creates timeless arcade game classics, preserving their authenticity.

As a dedicated gamer, I love tailoring my gaming experience to suit my preferences. For instance, you can tweak settings like adjusting the game’s difficulty level to make it more challenging or easier based on your skills. Plus, for a touch of nostalgia, you can recreate the vintage charm of old CRT TVs from back in the day!

Furthermore, you have the opportunity to challenge players globally by participating in global leaderboards.

Apart from the “Original Mode,” “High Score Mode,” and “Caravan Mode” found in the Arcade Archive collection, the new Arcade Archives 2 series will introduce additional features like “Time Trial Mode” and “Online Play.” In “Time Trial Mode,” you’ll strive to defeat the final boss as quickly as possible starting from the initial battle. This mode emphasizes speed over the score achieved. In “Online Play,” you can engage in battles with other players online, though not all games may support these new features.

As a passionate player, I’m thrilled to share that the gaming experience has been significantly upgraded! Now, instead of sticking with a single save slot, there are multiple options available. This is truly a game-changer as it allows for more flexible and diverse playthroughs. Additionally, a rewind feature has been included, giving me the chance to retry challenging gameplay sections without starting over from scratch. For those who can’t wait to jump back into the action, there’s a quick start feature that gets us right into the heart of the game with minimal fuss. Lastly, and this is a real treat for retro gaming fans like me, VRR support has been added. This means I can enjoy a more authentic arcade experience, closer to the original game!

Enjoy the legendary arcade masterpiece with Arcade Archives 2, now more fun and user-friendly.
