It looks like Ariana Grande and Jonathan Bailey are definitely planning to work together again on the West End stage. They shared a pretty clear hint on social media today that a reunion is happening.
Last month, there was a lot of talk that the stars of the musical ‘Wicked’ might be performing in a new production of Stephen Sondheim’s ‘Sunday in the Park With George’ in London’s West End. This popular musical is inspired by the famous painting ‘A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte’ by George Seurat.
The pair recently shared a photo of themselves posing in front of the well-known painting, accompanied by a caption from Bailey that simply said, “All it has to be is good.” This is a nod to a memorable song from the show.
People online, including celebrities, responded to the post, with actor Joe Locke from Heartstopper simply writing a string of ‘yes’ comments.

Deadline reports that the musical is scheduled to appear at The Barbican Theatre in the summer of 2027. The Barbican will also be the venue for High Society, starring Helen George of Call the Midwife, this May.
Sunday in the Park With George is a Tony Award-winning musical and is often considered one of the best musicals ever written.
The musical, created by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine, tells the story of artist Georges Seurat and his obsession with finishing his painting, ‘A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte.’ This dedication consumes him, leading him to push away the people he cares about, including his partner, Dot.

Okay, so here’s the deal: I’m running into a technical snag trying to display this. Apparently, it’s a conflict with something called Contentpass – if you’re signed in to that, you’ll need to sign out to see what I’m trying to show you. It’s a bit annoying, but hopefully, a quick sign-out will do the trick!
Ariana Grande has announced she’s planning to step back from making pop music once she completes her Eternal Sunshine tour in 2026.
I was listening to Amy Poehler on ‘Good Hang’ recently, and she mentioned she’s doing a small tour, which is great! But she also seemed to hint that this might be a rare thing – she wasn’t sure when, if ever, she’d be touring again, and it sounded like it could be a long time.
Honestly, I’m putting everything I have into this, and I really believe it’s going to be amazing. I’m just so thankful for the opportunity. That’s really why I’m doing it – it feels like one last big, incredible moment, at least for now.
Jonathan Bailey is taking a break from acting to dedicate his time to his charity, The Shameless Fund. As a result, both he and his previously announced 2027 musical project will be available at the same time.
Bailey recently played a leading role in a production of Richard II at the Bridge Theatre. Ariana Grande, however, has never performed in a West End show.
