Warning: SPOILERS For Landman Season 2, Episode 3 – “Almost a Home”
Okay, let me tell you, episode 3 of Landman season 2 was a game changer for Ariana Medina, played by Paulina Chavez. Her character really needed a boost, and this episode delivered! After kicking Cooper Norris (Jacob Lofland) out in the previous episode, ‘Almost a Son,’ we finally see Ariana starting to really come into her own. It was a welcome development, honestly.
In the first season of Landman, Ariana wasn’t a central figure. The story began with the tragic death of her husband, Elvio (played by Alejandro Akara), in an oil drilling accident, leaving her to raise their baby son alone. That’s when Cooper Norris came into the picture, and a mutual attraction developed between them.
The first season of Landman followed the fast-moving romance between Cooper and Ariana, complicated by the arrival of Tommy Norris’ son, who quickly moved in with Ariana. Throughout the season, Ariana dealt with both her grief over Elvio and her growing feelings for Cooper.
Ariana Desperately Needed Landman Season 2’s Crucial Glow Up
In season 2, episode 3 of Landman, Ariana starts a new job bartending at the Patch Cafe. She quickly faces challenges, dealing with unwanted attention and harassment from the mostly oil worker clientele.
It was nice to see Ariana enjoying herself outside of her home and focusing on a storyline that didn’t revolve around Cooper Norris. For more than a season on Landman, she dealt with the loss of her husband and a romantic connection with Cooper.
Working at The Patch Cafe allowed Ariana to show a side of herself people hadn’t seen before. As a bartender, she didn’t tolerate disrespectful behavior from the bar’s customers, demonstrating her strength and determination. Ariana had always been a strong person, and the way she handled unwanted sexual advances while working was truly impressive.
The third episode of Landman season 2 really showcased Ariana’s character, and it was important for her to become independent from Cooper. We finally see Ariana as a confident, capable, and clever woman, and it’s easy to understand why Cooper is attracted to her.
Will Ariana & Cooper Reunite In Landman Season 2?
After fearing a dangerous situation similar to one from the show Landman, Ariana broke up with Cooper and asked him to leave. Surprisingly, Cooper didn’t protest, which bothered Ariana, but she handled the situation well and decided to find a job.
The trailer for Landman season 2, episode 4, “Dancing Rainbows,” briefly shows Ariana with Cooper at his grandmother’s funeral. Despite their breakup, Ariana appears to be there to support him and the Norris family during this difficult time.
While Ariana and Cooper’s story might not be over, Ariana taking a job that allows her to develop her own stories related to Landman – independently of Cooper – is a positive move. However, attending the funeral could create drama, especially since it means she’ll be interacting with the Norris family.
Ariana brought a welcome energy to the show when she started bartending in season 2, episode 3 of Landman. Fans are hoping she keeps moving forward and building on this progress, regardless of what happens with Cooper in season 2 of Landman.
