With the release of Arknights Endfield almost here, let’s start thinking about which Operator will be the most effective to use when it launches.
In this game, Operators are the characters you control during battles. You build teams of four, and each Operator has unique abilities and a specific job. These characters are obtained through a random draw system, so it’s important to strategize about who you get.
In this article, I’ll give you my take on what the best Operators are and why.
Before We Begin

Just a heads-up: what follows is my best estimate of which characters will be powerful. It’s based on what we’ve learned about their abilities from trailers and early game testing.
Honestly, things are still super fluid with these new Operators! The devs are constantly tweaking them, even right up until they launch. That means they could end up being way more powerful or surprisingly weak – it’s hard to say for sure what we’re gonna get!
Considering everything, Laevatain (as a damage dealer) and Ardelia (as a support character) seem like the best choices.
Laevatain – High Damage DPS Carry

Laevatain is the first character available through a special, limited-time gacha system. Because of this, she’s a little difficult to obtain, as you can’t save resources specifically for her release.
Also, remember that any pulls you make before reaching the 120-pull guarantee won’t count towards the next banner. Even reaching the 80-pull pity with a 50/50 chance isn’t completely safe. Therefore, it’s best to only try to get Laevatain if you can afford to do 120 pulls to absolutely guarantee you’ll get her. Otherwise, you could try rerolling your account.
Okay, so I’ve been playing a lot, and honestly, Laevatain is the absolute strongest damage dealer you can get right now. Yvonne is pretty good too, but she’s a bit tricky to use – you have to keep her still to really get the most damage out of her. Laevatain’s also way better at hitting multiple enemies at once, which is super useful.
Laevatain deals a lot of damage, especially when paired with Akekuri. Akekuri is a strong 4-star Support Operator who can quickly restore Skill Points, making her a valuable addition to your team if you get her!

What really makes Akekuri awesome is how easily she can apply that Heat Infliction status to enemies. Then, I can have Laevatain eat up those stacks and just power up – it’s a crazy strong combo! Honestly, Laevatain does fine on her own, but the way she and Akekuri work together is definitely something special.
Players who get Laevatain will likely have a strong start when the game launches. She deals a lot of damage, making it easy to succeed in most of the early game content, particularly when paired with Akekuri. It’s still unclear how effective she’ll be later on, though.
Laevatain’s main weakness is that she’s a damage-dealing Operator. This makes her vulnerable to being overshadowed by newer, stronger damage dealers as they’re released – it’s a common problem for characters focused on dealing damage in games like this.
Ardelia – Extremely Versatile Support, Free for Everyone

We strongly recommend Ardelia for Support Operators. She’s a very flexible character who works well with any Physical team, and is also a great addition to most elemental teams.
Her most powerful ability is applying a debuff called Corruption, which she then absorbs using her special skill. This makes enemies more vulnerable to both physical and magical attacks, significantly increasing your team’s overall damage output.
I’m seriously excited about Ardelia! Not only does her Battle Skill create these awesome healing spots you can run to when things get tough, but she also boosts your damage while keeping you alive. Honestly, she seems like everything you could ask for in an Operator!

And that’s not all – Ardelia is a completely free Operator! You don’t need to spend any resources trying to obtain her; she’s given to all players as a launch reward. Plus, you’ll also receive her signature weapon, Dreams of the Starry Beach, at no cost.
Don’t dismiss a character just because you got her for free! Putting resources into her can significantly help you advance in the game. Also, Support characters tend to stay relevant for longer than damage dealers, as they’re less likely to become outdated.
Overall, I think Laevatain will be the strongest damage dealer in Arknights Endfield when the game launches. Ardelia is shaping up to be the best support character, and she’s available for free! You really can’t go wrong choosing either of them.
