Armatus is Getting a Limited-Time Demo on February 23rd

Did you see Armatus, the third-person shooter Counterplay Games revealed at the recent Xbox Partner Showcase? You can play a demo of it during the Steam Next Fest starting February 23rd. Here’s a quick teaser trailer!

The upcoming demo, as announced by the developer on Steam, will let players test out different weapons, upgrades, and abilities while battling demons. The game’s core loop – fighting, dying, and restarting to discover powerful combinations – is central to its rogue-like design. Players can expect a boss fight against The Monument at the demo’s conclusion, though the demo’s total length hasn’t been revealed.

Players interested in trying the demo before anyone else can sign up at FirstLook. The playtest begins February 20th at 10 AM PST, and some participants may also get the chance to play the complete game before it officially releases.

The demo is available to everyone until March 2nd. Unlike previous games like the action RPG Godfall or the competitive card game Duelyst, Armatus is a realistic third-person shooter. Players navigate the demon-filled streets of Paris, battling to survive and collecting upgrades, special abilities, and weapons like SMGs and shotguns.

The action game Armatus is coming to Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and PC later in 2024. Keep an eye out for news on a specific release date and the possibility of another demo in the next few months.
