Tekken fans have a reason to celebrate! Armor King, a long-time favorite character, is now available as downloadable content for Tekken 8.
Armor King’s comeback is a welcome boost for Bandai Namco’s fighting game. The game has faced a lot of criticism recently, especially after the Season 2 update released in April, so this is a positive development.
The development team has made several improvements to win back dedicated fans, and it’s true – some of those changes have helped. Simply put, Tekken 8 is much better now than it was during the issues with Season 2.
Despite the recent release of Armor King, players are still worried about whether the game is fair and well-balanced. This is clear from the largely negative feedback on the newest update details.
Players were expecting this update, Patch 2.06, to make significant changes to game balance. However, it mostly fixes a few minor glitches and errors.
Bandai Namco hadn’t committed to major changes, but they had said they wouldn’t adjust Tekken 8’s gameplay balance before important esports tournaments, such as Evo and Evo France which just took place.
Now that those tournaments are over, people are becoming increasingly frustrated with the pace of updates for Tekken 8. The main point is that players feel a significant overhaul of the game has been necessary since Season 2 launched, and they haven’t seen it yet.
As a huge Tekken fan, I’m so excited Armor King is finally here! Now I’m really hoping Bandai Namco can focus on fixing those balance issues and making final adjustments. It’s so important they get everything perfect before the Tekken World Tour finals in January 2026 – that’s what will really keep the game thriving!
What do you think of Tekken 8 so far? If you’re playing, are you enjoying Armor King? And what are your predictions for the game’s future? Share any ideas you have for improving the game’s balance in the comments!
