Vertigo Games, known for its virtual reality games, is switching gears and will not be making its next game in VR.
A new version of The 7th Guest is coming to PlayStation 5. This release is a standard PS5 game, based on the VR version that was originally created for the PSVR2 in 2023.
This is the first time Vertigo hasn’t included any virtual reality elements in a game release, which is notable. It seems to reflect the recent slowdown in VR’s popularity.
This appears to be a completely new release, and it’s currently unclear if people who already own the VR version will get the standard, non-VR version as well.
The 7th Guest Remake takes the virtual reality game and adapts it for regular screens. It’s also a fresh take on a classic mystery adventure game originally released in 1993.
This game uses realistic, filmed cutscenes and takes place in a puzzle-filled mansion. You’ll explore the house from a first-person perspective, unlocking new areas and uncovering the story as you solve puzzles and find clues.
We enjoyed the PSVR2 version, despite some frustrating bugs. If the updated version is more refined, it’s worth another look.
The remake of The 7th Guest is on its way to PS5, though we don’t have a release date yet. Let us know if you’re excited about it by leaving a comment below!
