Beat Games stopped updating Beat Saber for PlayStation VR2 back in June, starting with new music content. Now, multiplayer for the game – a popular and highly-rated title on PSVR – has officially been turned off as of January 21st, 2026.
It’s sad to see a beloved game no longer supported, but something new and promising is emerging.
Here at Push Square, we’ve always been big fans of Synth Riders by Kluge Interactive. It’s a rhythm game with an amazing selection of music, and gameplay that’s just as fun as Beat Saber. Plus, the game features incredible ‘Experiences’ that feel like watching music videos.
Despite the disappointing news for PSVR rhythm game fans, we’re happy to share that Kluge will continue to support the platform. They’re making this announcement in a rather direct and forceful way.
Okay, Synth Riders fans, get ready! On January 21st, they’re adding Queen’s “We Are The Champions” to the game! It’ll cost the usual $1.99, but here’s the catch – it’s going to be a PSVR2 exclusive for the first week. Seriously! So if you’ve got a PSVR2, you’ll be the first to play it. A bit frustrating for the rest of us, but still awesome news!
The song is a fantastic addition to the game, and its release feels particularly impactful. Are you looking forward to playing it? And are you happy to hear that Synth Riders will continue to deliver new content? Let us know what you think in the comments!
