The Kingdom Hearts series recently celebrated its 24th anniversary, and fans are eagerly awaiting news about the future of the franchise.
The popular RPG series from Square Enix, known for mixing Disney settings and characters with energetic anime-style action, first launched on March 28, 2002.
The series has been very popular, with lots of games released over time, and fans are always excited to find out what’s coming next.
It’s been nearly four years since Kingdom Hearts 4 was first revealed, and we haven’t gotten many updates about the game since then.
While the 24th anniversary of the series hasn’t received much attention, Square Enix did share some new artwork with fans and hinted at future developments.
According to a message from director Tetsuya Nomura, the team is diligently preparing for the upcoming 25th anniversary and extends their gratitude to fans for their continued support.
Honestly, it’s looking like we might finally get a real update on this in about a year! I’m so excited – it feels like it’s been ages!
Currently, the only official information about Kingdom Hearts 4 is the first reveal trailer and a few screenshots. We haven’t seen much else yet.
Considering how long we’ve all been waiting, another year probably won’t make much difference. About six months ago, Nomura said development was still progressing, so it hasn’t stopped completely. Hopefully, the final product will be worth the extended wait.
