Ashley Tisdale Denies Mandy Moore, Hilary Duff Were in “Toxic” Chat

Ashley Tisdale is not bopping with this drama.

A spokesperson for Ashley Tisdale, known from High School Musical, has dismissed claims that a recent essay she wrote about a difficult experience with a mothers’ group was about her friendships with Mandy Moore, Hilary Duff, and Meghan Trainor. The spokesperson told TMZ on January 5th that it was regrettable her words had been misinterpreted.

According to Ashley’s representative, the 40-year-old wrote the essay to highlight challenges some mothers face. She drew from her own experience of feeling excluded by her friends, which reminded her of the social dynamics of high school.

TopMob News has reached out to Ashley’s rep but has not heard back yet.

The Disney Channel actress, who has two children – 4-year-old Jupiter and 16-month-old Emerson – with her husband, Christopher French, wrote about initially feeling like she’d found a supportive community when she joined a new moms group.

She explained in an essay published January 1st that, after some time, she started to question if that was actually the case.

The founder of Frenshe, now known as Ashley French, didn’t mention anyone specifically, even though she had previously shown photos of herself with Hilary, Mandy, and Meghan.

She initially felt really inspired by the other moms in her group and everything they were achieving. However, things changed when she realized she wasn’t being included in their social activities.

“I initially tried to brush off feeling left out,” Ashley said. “I knew people had the right to hang out without me, and there could have been valid reasons why I wasn’t included. Everyone was busy, and life was chaotic. I kept telling myself I was overreacting and it wasn’t something to worry about.”

But the experience made her feel ill at ease.

Ashley remembered feeling insecure one night after putting her daughter to bed. She started questioning herself, wondering if she wasn’t ‘cool’ enough. Suddenly, she felt transported back to high school, re-experiencing the feeling of being lost and wondering what she had done to be excluded.

Ashley said she initially tried to brush off feeling left out. She knew people had the right to hang out without her, and figured there might be valid reasons she wasn’t included. Everyone was busy, and she reassured herself it wasn’t a big deal, telling herself she was overthinking it.

But the experience made her feel ill at ease.

Ashley remembered a night after putting her daughter to bed when she started questioning herself. She felt a sudden wave of insecurity, like she was back in high school, wondering what she’d done to be excluded.

She texted the group, saying it felt too immature and she wanted to withdraw from whatever they were planning.

She explained that leaving the group was awkward. Some mothers offered apologies that didn’t seem genuine, while others expressed confusion about why she was excluded.

As a mom myself, I completely agree with Ashley. Motherhood is hard enough without questioning whether your friends and family truly support you. You deserve to be surrounded by people who genuinely care and lift you up. Honestly, it’s a lesson I’ve learned the hard way: if you’re ever doubting whether people have your back, especially during this journey, it’s time to find your tribe – even if it means realizing that the people you thought were supportive aren’t, no matter how perfect their lives seem online.

Ashley isn’t the only celebrity to get candid with a personal confession; keep reading for more.

In June 2024, athlete Jason Kelce jokingly responded to a fan’s comment on social media. The fan had observed that Kelce appeared to not wash his legs or feet, prompting Kelce to tweet, “What kind of weirdo washes their feet…”

The retired Philadelphia Eagles player later doubled down on his comments.

On his podcast, New Heights with his brother Travis Kelce, he jokingly asked, “What kind of person washes someone else’s feet?” He then added that he’d only scrub them if he could see dirt.

More than ten years after actor Kristen Stewart shared a story about witnessing a clown’s death in a car explosion at the circus when he was a child, he confessed that the story was made up.

Robert remembered telling The New York Times Style Magazine in December 2024 that he reacted with complete surprise, saying, “What on earth? Are you possessed?”

As for what he said during the 2011 Today interview promoting his film Water for Elephants?

He explained that one of the clowns had died in an accident. Their small car exploded, and it was a very serious incident. Everyone panicked and ran to safety; it was a truly frightening experience.

Grandma knows best.

In an October 2022 episode of The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian shared a personal story about how her grandmother, Mary Jo “MJ” Campbell, unexpectedly played a role in a private moment with her then-boyfriend, Pete Davidson.

Kim Kardashian shared a story with her mom, Kris Jenner, and sister Khloe Kardashian about a weekend at the Beverly Hills Hotel. She explained that she and Pete Davidson were chatting by the fireplace for hours when she remembered something her grandmother had told her: that having sex in front of a fireplace is a way to truly enjoy life. Inspired by this, they ended up doing just that, as a tribute to Kris.

Grandma’s reaction? A nod of approval.

Kim found it unsettling to think about her grandmother before being intimate, and MJ responded by saying she understood, but she had been younger and less considerate in the past.

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher have a very close family, including their children, 8-year-old Wyatt and 6-year-old Dimitri, and their love for each other is incredibly strong and unconditional.

So much so, that the Black Swan actress revealed they keep an open-door policy at home.

She told TopMob News in September 2022 that this also applies to the bathroom. She explained it’s simply become normal for her family and children to openly discuss and accept natural bodily functions.

Mila explained that she finally gave in after her family repeatedly asked to come inside. She said she just decided to leave the door open rather than continue refusing them.

Pre-kids, she might not have imagined she’d flush that particular boundary away.

She said she never imagined she’d be comfortable enough to use the restroom with the door open.

Ghouls just want to have fun.

During an October 2022 episode of The View, the hosts were discussing a woman who claimed her home was haunted by “sexual ghosts.” Sara Haines then posed a surprising question to the panel: “Is it possible to get pregnant from a ghost?”

Luckily, Joy Behar, her co-host, had a playful response: “I’ve had encounters with ghosts and never gotten pregnant.”

“I’m going to leave that statement as is,” Whoopi Goldberg responded. “I’m not sure everyone heard what Joy said, but I’m not going to comment on it further.”

Jenna Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb are very close friends, but Hoda recently learned something surprising about her co-host on Today. While preparing for an episode of Today with Hoda and Jenna, Hoda found out that Jenna never wears underwear.

Hoda Kotb shared a funny story on Today with Hoda and Jenna about needing to quickly return to the dressing room before a show. She then revealed that she realized her co-host, Jenna Bush Hager, doesn’t wear underwear.

Jenna’s rationale? Well, no underwear might just be more convenient to her.

She explained that the outfit created a more flattering shape and was also easier to pack. She added that there were many other benefits, too!

Looks like someone hasn’t been keeping up.

Britney Spears related to a popular line from Keke Palmer – “He could be walking down the street, I wouldn’t know a thing” – and confessed she wasn’t familiar with Pete Davidson or Scott Disick.

Britney shared a funny video from March showing Pete Davidson – who was dating Kim Kardashian at the time – and Kourtney Kardashian’s ex, Scott Disick, having a night out. She said the video had her laughing a lot.

I just had to share this again! Britney posted it, and she had no clue who was in the video, but it seriously cracked her up – and me too! It was so funny!

Before Chris Evans became famous as Captain America and was named People’s Sexiest Man Alive in 2022, Jana Kramer dated him and thought he was a charming and handsome guy.

The singer shared on her podcast, Whine Down with Jana Kramer, that this happened over ten years ago. While she doesn’t remember exactly how many times they went out, she does remember their final meeting.

Jana, who was around 26 at the time, said Chris asked her to come over when he had some friends visiting from Boston.

Oh my god, I still can’t believe it. The last thing I remember before everything changed was him heading to the bathroom right after I went – you know, after we’d both had asparagus and my pee smelled totally different! It’s so embarrassing to admit, but it’s stuck with me. Anyway, we didn’t… you know… that night. He just stayed up late hanging out with his friends. And then, the next morning… ugh. I basically had to sneak out of his place, totally mortified. It was the worst ‘walk of shame’ ever.

She added, “I never heard from him again.”

Not all of these confessions are amusing.

I was shocked to learn in December that Elisabeth Finch, a writer I’d admired, confessed her story about battling a rare bone cancer was fabricated. For years, she’d shared this incredibly moving experience – even inspiring a storyline on Grey’s Anatomy – and it was heartbreaking to discover it wasn’t true. It all started with an article in ELLE eight years ago, and now, knowing it was a ruse, it’s just… a lot to process.

Elisabeth recently shared with The Ankler newsletter that a lie she told at age 34 was the biggest regret of her life. She explained that the lie grew over time and became a heavy burden. She also clarified, “I have never had cancer.”

Finch, who was temporarily removed from their role on the ABC medical show before ultimately quitting, admitted, “I messed up. It was wrong, unacceptable – there’s no excusing it.”

Beauty is pain, but Kim Kardashian might be able to stomach it.

The reality star told The New York Times she’d consider almost any procedure to look younger.

She admitted in June that she’d consider doing almost anything for younger-looking skin, even something as unpleasant as eating waste. She said she ‘just might’ do it.

Kim told Allure in July 2022 that she was mostly kidding when she made the comment, and admitted it wasn’t such a bad idea after all.

Kim thought for a moment and then said, ‘Honestly, I’d probably eat something awful if someone promised it would make me look younger – even if it meant eating a bowl of poop every day.’

Asked how much she could eat, she replied, “Perhaps just a small bite.” She added that a full bowl would likely be too much for her.

Jelly Roll could’ve used some saving from himself.

During an April 2025 interview on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the singer behind “Save Me” shared a particularly embarrassing story, and he didn’t hesitate to tell all the details.

“I pooped myself one time,” he admitted. “I did, I’m sorry.”

To be honest, Jelly Roll (whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord) didn’t intend to cause such serious harm.

He firmly believed it was just a misunderstanding. “I really apologize,” he said. “I saw the audience turn from supportive to completely against me.”
