Ashton Kutcher isn’t punking anyone with this beauty treatment.
Actually, Danny Masterson isn’t involved. The former That ’70s Show star is returning to acting after a three-year break with a role in Ryan Murphy’s new series, The Beauty, which focuses on the transformation of everyday people into stunning works of art.
In the January 5th trailer, Ashton’s character, known only as The Corporation, boldly stated, ‘I’m living proof of this incredible new drug that instantly makes you beautiful.’ He explained it works with just one injection to achieve perfect beauty.
The new FX show, debuting on Hulu January 21st, presents a unique premise. According to the tech billionaire behind it, the central concept is essentially a desirable sexually transmitted condition – something people will actively seek out.
The injection unexpectedly caused a virus with horrifying effects, leading to the gruesome deaths of several supermodels. For example, Bella Hadid’s character, Ruby, lost control in a restaurant kitchen, violently attacking staff while suffering severe burns and blisters.
Anthony Ramos, playing The Assassin, told Jeremy Pope—who was hired to protect a tech mogul’s company—that they were guarding something truly special. He explained, ‘This is the closest anyone will ever get to eternal youth, and naturally, that creates some issues.’
Even though the drug has serious problems, The Corporation is determined to move forward with its release. The head of the company told one of its scientists, Rob Yang – even resorting to physical violence – “We launch in six months. Just fix the problems.”
As a dangerous epidemic spreads, FBI agents Jordan Bennett (Rebecca Hall) and Cooper Madsen (Evan Peters) are sent to investigate a disturbing event at a Paris fashion show. Their investigation quickly leads them into a perilous global conspiracy that puts all of humanity at risk.
In the trailer, Jordan described the situation as having escalated from a global virus to something deadly. Cooper, committed to solving the crisis, replied, “We’re going to resolve this and discover a cure.”
