Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag Remake Allegedly Has a Release Window and It’s Sooner Than Expected

Ubisoft recently published its financial results for the first half of 2025-2026, after briefly postponing the announcement due to takeover speculation. The company’s planned game releases remain largely unchanged, with titles like Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake, Rainbow Six Mobile, and The Division Resurgence still expected to launch by March 31, 2026.

In addition to Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Ubisoft is planning another unannounced game for release around the same time. Sources at Insider Gaming believe this is the frequently discussed remake of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. Initial reports about the remake surfaced in 2023, and it was originally intended to launch by November 2025, before the release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows was pushed back.

I’m hearing that this remake is shaping up to be quite different! Apparently, they’re cutting out all the loading screens and some content that was even removed from the first game. What’s really interesting is that it sounds like they’re also leaving out all the modern-day sections – which, honestly, some of us fans weren’t crazy about anyway! Ubisoft is staying totally quiet about it, but the actor Matt Ryan accidentally hinted at it last year and got a bit of heat for letting it slip.

Now that the year’s big gaming events are over, everyone’s looking forward to The Game Awards on December 11th, hoping for some exciting news.
