For years, rumors have circulated that Ubisoft is rebuilding Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. While Ubisoft hasn’t officially confirmed the remake, recent information suggests an announcement – and the game itself – might arrive much sooner than fans expect. It seems we won’t have to wait long to find out if the reports are true.
Insider Gaming reports that Ubisoft is aiming to release a remake of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag before March 31, 2026, the end of their fiscal year. They predict a launch the week of March 23rd. Since Ubisoft hasn’t officially announced the remake, the date could shift, but if the information is accurate, an announcement should come soon.
Although Ubisoft hasn’t officially announced it, there’s growing evidence that Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag is getting a remake. In a recent financial report, Ubisoft hinted at an unannounced game coming out this fiscal year. This supports a report from Insider Gaming suggesting that game is the Black Flag remake, confirming Ubisoft has a mystery title planned for release within the next four months. While it could be a different game, everything currently suggests this remake is the one.
As a huge Assassin’s Creed fan, it’s great to see Ubisoft still pouring effort into the series even with the Black Flag remake happening. Just this week, Assassin’s Creed Mirage got a big free update with new story content, which is awesome! And I’m really excited because Assassin’s Creed Shadows is finally coming to the new Nintendo Switch 2 next month. Plus, they’re still working on the next big game, codenamed Hexe, and hopefully we’ll get some more details about that from Ubisoft soon!
