For some time, rumors have been circulating, and a possible Collector’s Edition statue even appeared for sale online – surprisingly, on a resale site called Vinted – earlier this year.

Last year, Matt Ryan, the actor who voiced Edward Kenway, hinted at a remake of Black Flag, and it seems like those rumors were true all along!
After a lot of rumors, Ubisoft unexpectedly announced Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced in a recent blog post, playfully hinting that “some whispers turned out to be true.”
It’s definitely a great idea, especially since we think Assassin’s Creed Black Flag is among the best games in the series.
Okay, so the secret’s out! Let me tell you everything about the Assassin’s Creed Syndicate Black Flag Resynced mod – it’s seriously cool!
When is the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced release date?
Currently, there is no announced Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced release date.
Since there hasn’t been much news about the new Black Flag game, this lack of information isn’t unexpected. We don’t know how much progress has been made on it, but it’s likely that work done on the ‘high-budget’ Skull and Bones game will help speed things up.
We estimate the release will likely be between April 1, 2026, and March 31, 2027. This aligns with Ubisoft’s next financial year, and they’ll probably want to space out major releases following the launch of the successful Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
I’m keeping my eyes peeled for any news – leaks, rumors, or official announcements – and I’ll share everything I find with you all as soon as I can! I’m excited to find out more, and I’ll keep you updated!

Can I pre-order Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced?
You cannot currently pre-order Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.
As mentioned before, Ubisoft recently confirmed they’re working on the Black Flag Remake, so it will likely be a while before pre-orders become available.
I’m really excited for this, and as soon as pre-orders go live, I’ll make sure to update this page with all the links to buy it, plus details on any special editions that are available. I want to make it super easy for everyone to get their hands on it!
Which consoles and platforms can play Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced?
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is expected to be released on PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S.
Considering Ubisoft’s work on Assassin’s Creed Shadows, they’ll likely release it on a wide range of platforms.
Depending on its release date, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced could potentially be available on both the PlayStation 6 and the next generation of Xbox consoles. There’s also speculation that it might be playable on a future PlayStation handheld device, if one is released.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced gameplay and story details
If Assassin’s Creed Black Flag is remade, it will likely stay true to the original game’s story and gameplay, as fans really enjoyed it. However, some updates and changes are still possible.
Black Flag stars Edward Kenway, a pirate captain, who sails the Caribbean in the 1700s. He investigates a secret plot involving the Templars and the powerful British and Spanish empires, eliminating threats along the way.
The Jackdaw ship remains the highlight of the game. Sailing around the islands still feels like being in a Pirates of the Caribbean movie, and it’s just as enjoyable now as it was when the game first came out in 2013.
According to a video from Jeux Vidéo, the upcoming Black Flag Remake will likely cut out the parts of the original game set in 2013. Instead, it will play more like the newer Assassin’s Creed games that focus on RPG elements.
The loading screens when traveling between the Jackdaw ship and land areas are expected to be removed. While the overall map size won’t increase, there’s a possibility of adding more things to do within the existing world.
It’s also said that we might see the reintroduction of cut content, such as Mary Read’s storyline.
A handy Reddit post in r/GamingLeaksandRumours succinctly summarises the video.
Is there an Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced trailer?
There are no Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced trailers.
All we have is a piece of concept art, which can be viewed at the top of this article.
It’s easy to get excited about the new game when you remember how much fun the original Black Flag was – a quick look at the old trailer brings it all back!

Even though Assassin’s Creed Rogue is still a visually appealing game, it started to look dated quickly after the release of Assassin’s Creed Unity in 2014, largely because it was originally designed for older, 7th-generation consoles.
With that in mind, we’re excited to see how a modern-day Black Flag will look!
